Isn't this discussion really all about all of us being really mad at a certain group of people taking more than they need and wasting it? Maybe we should be asking why they (netters) are taking more than they need.
At this point, I have been so mad for so long I am getting burned out. mad

I bet the amount of fish taken taken by tribal fisheries is astronomical considering they just cut open the carcasses and dump them straight into the bay or river. This has to stop, since the gulf states, california, quit netting. and here where there is some real sport fishing opportunity with out the netting longer sport fishing seasons. you know how good it is for the economy, hell you couldn't find a frozen pack of herring hardly at all this season, my buddy works for herring company here and he was takin loads all the way down to oregon cause thay wouldn't last. this state is way behind other states in rebuilding fisheries with this so called boldt decision. now some people wonder why so many remarks towards the indians. ITS TIME TO CHANGE THE SCENERY WITH THEM. Ben

Hey, maybe someone can save this thread and repost it in three or four mounths. It will save everyone the time of posting the same thing over and over again every few months.

thats a good point, but also the problem. everyone is willing to talk about it but as long as it is just talk, then the cycle continues, the netting continues, the restrictions on sportfishing continues...until action is taken, nothing will change

you are either part of the solution or part of the problem, there is no middle ground.

KSR, good point. Unfortunately, this topic is the most heated topic in fishing. This type of arena gives people a healthy oppurtunity to vent some anger without going over the edge, I know I have. I get as mad as the next guy about all of this netting stuff. I feel better though after I blow off some steam in this forum. Blowing off steam here is better than marching on down to the tribal launch and blowing off steam there. smile
