Has anyone else had problems with this reel?
The first one I bought the level wind busted after
light to moderate use- so I sent it back and got a new one sent to me free from abu and after the fourth time of light use the clutch bar broke yesterday while pitching lead from the bank. Is this reel a pathetic joke or have I just gotten
two duds?

those things are expensive!

I really hope you got 2 duds.. cuz I just bought one not to long ago.... Have yet to use it though... I had doubts about the material they used in the first place.... Maybe I shoulda stuck to the C3 and C4s that have always treated me right.

I had one for one trip, but I sent it back. Just touching the side plate would cause it to turn on the cam set up, this would change all the adjustments! Casted great and was very smooth otherwise.

maybe you just had some bad luck with those reels...i have one and have used it for 10-12 trips so far, real smooth and no problems, although i havent had it very long. what i really like about it is the large drag you can fine tune easily while fighting a fish.

Although I haven't used one personally, I've heard nothing but good things about them from those who have.

If it ends up being a dud trade it in on a Shimano Curado. I just bought one and its really nice. Heard nothing but good things about them. I have never tried the eon though.

My buddy took his back. It had some serious problems. He ended up getting a Curado

Those Curado's are so smooth, I have to roll them in dirt a few times to get them to feel normal....j/k

A friend of my got to use his twice before bringing it back.
