I'm looking for a new drift rod to take to Alaska this summer.. needs to be 2 pieces.. (took a one piece 8'6" last year.. kinda a pain.) needs to have a litte beef for fish 35lbs+.. I was thinking somthing like the HSR1023 sounds pretty good.. anyone have any experiance with this rod?? any Comments?? Suggestions??

I like the 1026c (8'6" 12-25#)2 piece. It's a standard taper, not the mag. taper, a fast action not the xfast. Casts better, has a typical drift rod action, not a plug rod action. I along with many clients, feel that it's a better choice for a king drift rod than the HS1023.
This was a very popular bouy 10 rod for us last summer and has carried over into the rivers as a nice king drift rod.

We get fewer warranty claims on the Rainshadow blanks than we do the Loomis rods.
They are a very durable rod. No worries, much stronger than the IMX blanks..
