If you are concerned about the company in Oregon go to the Better Business Bureau website, type in oregon and the company name, it should list any consumer complaints listed with that company. Whatever you do don't buy anything from alderwood marine they SUCK!, I went in to buy a motor from them the guy had to call his wherehouse to find a motor he said to come back the next day and he would have one for me, I went back to pick up motor and he never called the wherehouse!, he said he didn't think I was serious about the motor and I had $2500 in my hand to show him I was serious, he said I'll call right now and I said see ya!. I also got an additional 2yrs on my warranty and have never had a single problem in about 1000 hrs. You gotta love those Yamahas.

EJThomp and anyone else thinking about buying an outboard in B.C., you will not get any warranty work done on that motor in the states, we have different emissions standards and any outboard sold in the U.S. has an emissions standards sticker on it, Canadian motors don't have this sticker. Dealers here will not touch a motor that doesn't have this sticker, just something to consider.

I have one season on a Suzuki 40 4-stroke...it has been perfect. Idle down to 1 mph troll and never a hiccup. fish for 2 days on 6 gal gas tank. I have a trolling motor on the 16 ft crestliner but never use it. Great motor, 6 yr warranty. I would definitely buy another. You would probably have same technology on your 25 (EFI, Etc).
