SOG lockblade w/ black rubberized grip. Quicker than a Guadalajara switchblade (or so I've "heard" )

Won't take the chance to lose a really good knife out fishing.
Have two easy open, lock blade style knifes that are "boat stock". Stainless steel blades, and sharper than 'ell.
Think I give $2.99 ea. at the checkout counter at Northern Sales for them. They have done a good job. One in the cup-holder, near the anchor line should it need cutting in a hurry.

Chrome/22, I carry the same knife that you do. I often wonder about the switch blade style opening of that thing. Just an FYI, The spring function quit working on mine and brought it to Sportco to ask if there was anything they might be able to do as far as buying new springs or what not. They sent it to kershaw and about a week later I had a brand new one back in my pocket that works perfectely. Great knife and great company.

Guess I'm somewhat old school. A Buck Cadet has been in my pocket for about 20 years.

There are carry knives and boat knives...I love my 8" Dexter Russell filet knife. I also take along the Edgemaker Pro sharpening steel/hone and a diamond steel.
Another thing to consider having on board your vessel is a hacksaw or at least a hacksaw blade. It can makes short work of nylon/polypro and other lines that get wrapped too tightly around things like props. A little safer than sawing with a serrated knife blade.

Diamond steel, the best way to sharpen a good blade. Diamond steel an a piece of leather, is all that I use,it keeps the Buck filet knife shaving sharp.
