Since we have discussed at length (and very heatedly at times) the subject of different rod manufacturer's warranties I thought I would share my experiance with All Star. First and foremost I am not a rep, just another consumer. I purchased an All Star 1083S from Superfly in the fall and I must say that it was very comparable in sensitivity to the IMX 1082S Loomis that I replaced it with (the Loomis was an overstock from D & E rods, no warranty and it broke in Sept). The All Star broke just above the ferrule on the Cow around the first of the year. I sent the rod back to the factory, they received it on the 21st Of Jan. I just received my new replacement rod in the mail, no questions asked on Thursday of this week. I did have to pay for the shipping which ended up costing $30 total.
I must say that I'm pleased with the service and just wanted to share this with anyone who is considering purchasing an All Star rod. If you can't find them at your local tackle shop I know that Superfly (Joe) and Kid Sauk (Justin) are reps and can hook ya up.
Good luck and tight lines, Jeff laugh laugh

That's nice to hear about the All Star rods Jeff. But it's quite a different deal with their full size blow up plastic blond doll division! I got one for a New Year's gift and it popped the first time I used her. I sent her back to the doll factory and they sent a note back that the cause of failure was due to abuse of product; not due to failure of materials or workmanship! Geeez, how could they determine that?!? ... And all I did was use her once - sitting her in the passenger seat so I could use the express lane to get around the slowed traffic. Seems I turned up the heater too much and it caused the air to expand and blow out the seams. Oh well; only in America, eh? laugh

RT,
I had a similar experience, only when I sat my doll in the passenger seat, she found a missing Vision hook. Bad news is I am out a pretty, pretty doll, good news is I got a pack of sharp Vision hooks.....and she was just starting to not be so shy... laugh

But seriously folks............

A friend of mine bought a AllStar rod and the dealer told him that if it broke he could take it back to the dealer and get a replacement off the shelf. To me, this sounded almost too good to be true. I am casually looking for a new steelhead rod and would like to know if this is the AllStar policy. If it is, I will probably go with them considering all the other good things I have heard.

As far as the inflatable girlfriend, I take mine on shrimping trips (she has her own license) so we can get an extra limit of shrimp.

Slab - all else fails, you can always just biatch at Joe here on the board! That's what we do! wink

Seriously, I've only heard good things about the Allstar Warranty. These are from real people, and not the bazillion fake posts that are generated from these boards.

I've never busted an Allstar yet (not to say I won't), so I have no personal warranty experience with them. I have some ordering issues with Allstar, but that's a different story.

RT - Allstar does not warrant it's products against ping-pong paddle use. Easy there, killer! wink

Vision *might* warrant their products against ping-pong paddle use - you'd have to ask Joe one that one! wink

Slabquest,

Teds in Lynnwood sells them. I am sure they could give you the full warranty policy.

Blow-up plastic doll, RT? Here I thought you were referring to your inflatable azz-gasket when you were talking about your "favorite inflatable" the other day.

You gotta treat those kinds of ladies like you would a cheap pair of waders. Seal her seams with a good sealant and keep her away from sharps.

I bought an Allstar at Ted's over the holiday. Was told that it was a store return warranty, for anything. But also that it might be a promo until they get themselves established in the NW. Very satisfied with the rod and will probably go back for another one, just slightly lighter action.

I have loomis rods for all the fishin I do,except for the original cost I am very happy with them,in the future if I need or want a new rod I will take a serious look at the Allstars and Rainshadows . I hear nothing but good things about them, including a reasonable cost

We will honor the warranty for aslong as All-Star will replace rods without charges. At this point, I do not see that changing anytime soon. smile

Please, do not feed the trolls.

Of his three other posts, one was to talk about Vision swivels falling apart .

Troll, indeed.
