Price on hooks?

I found a site where I can buy 100 Gamakatsu treble hooks,tin, size 2/0 for $44.30.Up here all I can find is the little 6 packs,and they go for 6 bucks a pack.Anyone know of a better price?They also sell VMC hooks, 2/0, at $134.10 per 1000,I have never used VMC hooks,are they any good,and is that a good price

Try Hagens catalogue. I think there web sight is hagenfish.com and if thats not right then email me and I'll look it up for you. They have some unreal prices like a box of 100 Daiichi's for $7.00

I've just been through a bulk buy on hooks and for the money it looks like one of this sites sponsors http://www.visionhooksandtackle.com has some nice pricing on hooks. I buy all my tackle at Ted's and they are 1/2 price of Gammies there. Maybe a bit smaller gap, nice and sharp out of the box:) Good Luck, Gusty

VMC hooks are fine. They are easy to sharpen and relatively inexpensive. I have even caught a couple of fish on them over the years.

I have caught a lot of fish with the VMC's. Mostly salmon in the ocean. For the price, and the quality, they are hard to beat. They are easier on the pocketbook when fishing in a real snag fest. I mean the gear on the bottom, not the fish.

I've fished VMC for years and never had a problem with them as long as I use my file(which I think you should do with any and all hooks). They sharpen easily but can dull quickly. I like the galvanized hook as opposed to chrome or red. "VMC, they hook and hold" I believe there is some truth to it.
