I waded a smallish stream yesterday, nada, nothing, zilch. That's for everyone I talked to, not just me.

Very low, clear, and a lot more people on it than I expected. Of course it's the first time I've been on it so I only hit the spots easy to find.

Went through my gear top to bottom today, organized, cut off used leaders, etc.

Can't fish next weekend (anniversary trip with the wifey), so looks like summer season is the next go 'round. Waaaahhhhhhhh!!!

waded a small river today probably the same as one as skywalker. pounded it hard from 8:30 to 1:00 stayed in the same hole all day cause i knew there were fish in there and hooked 1 at about noon which went into a death roll and spit it. fish was about 9 1/2 10lbs witha tint of red on the gill plates

Slow weekend for me also. Fished sat/sun. Sounds like tyler and skywalker might have been on the same area stream i was, might have even talked to one of you. Had one brief hook up saturday after about the thousandth cast into a deep slot. Things have definetly been on the slow side...

2 more weeks til shut down frown frown

Upper Sky this morning, perfect 6 pound native on my third cast. Not a big fish, but perfectly formed and quite a little ripper.

No other steelhead, but did see a hole with about a dozen silvers in it still. They ranged from very dark to red to kinda red. Nice to see so many still around...

Didn't see or hear of any other fish today, but didn't talk to many other folks.

Fish on...

Todd.

I fished a small oly pen river and didn't touch a thing. Had one that felt good but most likely was the bottom. river was clear and about 250 cfs, so it was really low. frown

Was on the Sky Saturday morning, no fish for me, saw a nice one taken on a fly though. Also got to do a little swimming! haven't done that in more than 5 years. I thought the spot looked easy to wade, but it was not! Didn't loose any gear, just rolled over on my back and let the current carry me to a shallow spot. It was COLD though, and ruined the whole day. Had my new (one week) cell phone with me, thought for sure I'd toasted it, but after getting home, I opened it up blow dried it all out and it works fine!
Don't let the low water conditions fool you, like it did me. mad

Bankwalker, Typical Teen, Skywalker,

I think I fished the same smallish stream you guys did last week. Starts with a P. Pulled in a 30" Brat just up from the debuque bridge. Plan on float ng it this weekend.

I'd give an honest report for the 3-day weekend, but Joe would kill me and I'd just get accused of "bragging" again. rolleyes

There are *plenty* of fish to be found. Just gotta look in the right river! wink

Ok, I'll brag just a little! I gotta show *someone* all these digital pictures! wink

I was on a well known OP river today and caught a 17-18lb steelie. Was starting to get dark, but he put up a good fight. Caught it on a big silver spoon.

Saturday on the Salmon River, ID. I landed four and my partners landed three. Nothing big, six to eight pounders, the biggest was 10#. Weather and fishing was great.

Really? You do know that whatever you decide to float it in, you've got to get out of before you fish, right?

For those fishing south of the border. I went seven for seven Sunday and Monday at Ozbow Park on the Sandy. Three hatchery fish handed off to others who landed them, two boots released, one 11 -12 lb. native released and this little hen kept. Corkie and eggs drifted in deep slots.

Skywalker,

True you can't fish from a floating device, but if you have ever walked this river you can see how much fishy water you can get to that would normaly be unreachable. I can't wait! slober, slober
