Okay, so awhile back I posted about sending Fish Program @ WDFW an email regarding some questions I had about a local river. Never got a response from that one--that was a few months ago. Last week I sent another email with a few questions, including the same ones from my last email plus a few more. Still have yet to get a response. Am I wasting my time or what? Maybe they're still really busy with rule changes and such? It's so frustrating that I take the time to type up my questions and have a desire to know the real deal about stuff and then I don't get any replies! It's like I'm talking to a wall! frown

Krome - go over to the lakes BB and look up stacy kelsey's email address. She works for WDFW in your area and is good about responding to questions.

I've had excellent luck (Region 4 Bio, Curt Kreamer, got back to me with some excellent info in just a couple days) with emailing questions to Fish Progam @ WDFW and I have poor luck...one time I eventually got my question answered, it was just 3 months after I sent the email.

You know how the WDFW is, they may have to save your e-mails until the next committee meeting before they can give you a politically correct excuse, um, I mean answer to your questions.

Last summer I worked with two fisheries biologists in the midwest. They both said the first thing they do each morning is weed through their emails. For every legitimate question they received there were 5 more from someone who drank a 12-pack and wrote a midnight manifesto on walley management.
One of them took vacation for a week and came back to an unimaginable number of emails. I can't remember how many it was but it was well into the hundreds. People in those positions are more than willing to discuss real issues and answer legit questions, but they're busy enough with their normal job duties and the junk emails tend to bury the worthwhile ones.

Thank you Stacie, its nice to know that some of our professional from WDFW will at least interact with some of the end users of the resources and listen to our concerns, oberved problems, and praises. Why doesn't the WDFW have a more open forum like a boards that we can use for different sports fishing resources, to report violations or share any concerns or make suggestions or support your decisions

There are a lot of staff that read the boards. I don't know how many post or do so under different names.

I get a lot of email from all sorts of users. To me, each email is EXTREMELY important.. no matter the question.

I will do my best to give the most detailed question no matter its content.

Because you guys RULE!!!!

Honestly, anyone who follows my posting knows how important I think anglers are. Yes some of you get angry at us. That's okay. Yes you get angry at our decisions. That's okay too. Part of my job is to help explain some of the questions that you have and provide materials to help you experience better fishing and recreational opportunities.

I cover southwest Washington along with my ever so cool supervisor John Weinheimer. So the issues I can comment on are only about this Region. But I can always get you in touch with the appropriate people in other areas.

Do not hesitate to ask or email me anytime.

My email is: kelsyslk@dfw.wa.gov
My phone is: (360)906-6706

Both are resources for you to use as you need them.

I do field work, but I will answers emails and phone messages just as soon as I absolutely can.

I also check the forum in the evening when I am playing on the computer at home so will try to keep up with requests here as well.

stace
