located in Western Washington.

Geeeeez I wish I knew those big trout were in there, when 'Fly and I were anchored fishing for bluegill near the sunbathing beauties late last summer (right near that property in the background I think). I'll call it Uncle Joe's Zipper Lake. smile As for the fish, I don't see any red slashes under the throat so I would say that's a nice fat 'bow. As for the guy, it must be Joe's former Boy Scout troop leader? cool

Ryan,

You got the easy part ok, it is a wild cutthroat.

RT, I think this guy was a Boy Scout leader. laugh
However, the lake is about 60 miles north of Fly's Lake Zipperlip. confused laugh

I don't know where Fly's zip is but I'll guess Lake that starts with an St and end with an m.

JacobF,

Good guess on the lake. The fisher is Bob Phifer
WDFW,the fish is a wild cutthroat (average size),
the lake is Lake Washington and Kid Sauk supplied
the boat. We were helping Bob with a cutthroat
project. We scale sampled a hundred of so cutts
so he could determine how many might be sea-runs.
I was surprised to find out none of them ever
made it to salt water.

Cool pic, John, brings back memories of good ol' Lake WA and my Glasply. That was a fun trip with Bob Phifer. I ran into him a few years later at the Ballard locks fish ladder and we reminisced about that trip laugh

YNOTFISH,

I agree with that. I'll be fishing cutthroat
after the 28th too. If ya see an Arima with a
big puff of cigar smoke trailing behind it, wave
hello !!! And don't be supprised to hook a bass
while trolling for cutts like I did in the picture
below.
