Was reading your post on the Vision hooks and it just dissapered! frown
So I wanted to sent you some info on Gamakatsu's siwash hook problems they went through.
About 13 years ago, I pro-staffed for Gamakatsu, when Bob Funk was there.
We had a hella of a time with the siwashes breaking when closing them, about 1 in 4! The Japs had a hard time getting the tempering just right. They finally figured it out and "most" of them don't break anymore when closed. Sometimes they screw up and a batch will get through but they catch it, and re-set the machine.
I've never used Vision hooks before, (if they sent me some I'd give em a good honest try wink ) but I'm sure they are going through the same steps that Gamakatsu went through. They'll get it right.
I've never heard of a tackle company that would refund your shipping also! eek
At least they want to make it right. smile
If we don't take a minute and tell these companies what's wrong with their products they'll never know they need improving and we all would be stuck with sub-standard equiptment.
Like Gamakatsu siwashes that always break when closed. Just my 02 wink

Hey GMAN -

Thanks for this post.

Actually I am quite familiar the quality pitfalls involved in the mass production of metal parts, I was a QA inspector at a sawblade factory for two years, I am also a trained black belt in Operational Excellence as well as trained in the principles of Six Sigma. I appreciate your added expertise in the area of hooks and the potential pitfalls specific to their manufacture.

Sorry I pulled the carpet out from under you on that thread, it was getting way out of control.
