yeah, there are 2 chips, a Seattle chip that covers all of Puget Sound, the San Juans, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and down the coast to Ocean Shores, it also covers about 1/2 of Barkley Sound and the southern Gulf Is. The second chip covers the coasts of Wa., Or. and N. Calif.

Garmin will soon be releasing 2 Canadian chips, 1 I believe will cover the inside passage and the other will be a Van Is. chip, should be released this summer.

Funny that Garmin 182 came up...I just helped my neighbor get a 182C (color) and a region 23 chip from Cyber-marine.com.
He talked to all the local retailers and $999 was the quote. Cyber-marine.com (where I bought my map76) quoted $885. I think I talked to Rob over the phone and he seems very knowledgeable and a straight-shooter.
$115 saved plus taxes.

Do any of you guys know of any dedicated units that allow you to upload the data from the normal BSB or SoftChart CD-ROM's? I've been using my laptop and SoftChart maps, but the laptop is not the brightest display and I'm also worried about exposing it to too much moist air... can't be good for it... just wondering if any of you knew of any of these types of units.
