As you seasoned Washington anglers know, you don't have to fish the legendary rivers of NW BC to catch a relatively high percent of trophy sized steelhead. Northwest Washington and Southwest BC have great wilderness places that put them out also. Justin Guse (Rock and Row) took Paul Luhrs (Willie Rower) and I fishing one of these great rivers last week and we were very lucky to run into a fresh push of large nates - landing 3 big ones out of 9 on in one day (next day was on it's way out with rain and snowmelt - so we fished the Sound). We got a couple bucks pushin 20 and a mid-teens hen. {EDIT: Parker's scans of our fish pics below is better). Or try clicking on http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=693486&uid=506747&members=1 Thanks again Justin! You and your Team Vision pals do know the trophy zipper rivers.

Hey, those pictures don't seem to come up. I believe you though and congratulate you on those fish. I was on that same river, on that same day and it was a pretty great place to be. We got a couple a little smaller, one about the same, and one maybe a little bigger. Hope to get back there one more time this year.

Nice try, AK, but it *wasn't* the hooks. TRUST me on this one! There's only so much any one can do when you have a couple of OryGonIans in your front seats! Actually, I won't get it in to it too much, but it's more of a plug rod issue. Fiberglass good. Graphite sucks arse.

Dave that "Johnny's Seasonings that we make is the "[Bleeeeep!]" isn't it, but watch out all that MSG will either kill ya or preserve ya. Not wanting to sound like an advertizment, but try marinating some of them keepers in "Johnny's Jamaica Mistake" dressing, it's great stuff for fish and especially chicken. See you at F4????

Hey Juniordances?, you Wassie cracker wannabe, my elbows were straight down at my side as I held up my fish. I'm just a big guy that makes fish look smaller than they are in pics (really). And when you get strong enough to hold one of those big steel slabs up, we will take you out and catch one for you. As for you other whinnin wussie Wassies ~ - 1st fish hooked (Paul - Oreo) - 2nd fish hooked (RT - Oreo; while rowing the driftboat by myself thru a good looking slot while the other 2 guys were bankfishing, thus can't set the hook in front rod holder quick enough and lose another big fish on it's hard run when the hook pulls off - but this finally convinced them I was right that plugging is often the answer for mid 30's clearish water - by rudely corking one out from under their nose when I boated by ) - 1st fish landed (RT - Oreo) - 2nd fish landed (Paul - Oreo) - 3rd fish landed (Justin - Wassie, in last hole by the takeout) We all lost fish in between the landed ones. In fairness to Justin, he did more of the rowing and knew where to fish the holes. He did let me (Oreo) have fun rowing the 2 toughest rapids; without a tick. He says he will now trust me (Oreo) rowing the upper end of the 'Duc. Ya see, Oreos rock! But so does the Kid of course!! btw, the Vision debarbed siwash hooks worked well. Quick marginal hits on them while using fast action graphite rods are why some didn't stay buttoned. But who cares, it was a blast!

Thanks for getting those pics up, Parker RT and Willierower are some great guys to fish with. I am still laughing about RT plugging by himself and then hooking up...briefly that is. Willierower and I were just banking it and driftfihing a killer little pocket along a log jamb when here comes RT plugging along. I was just about to tell him to quit screwing around because he was coming into a killer plugging slot when WHAMMO he gets a takedown. Blown opportunity because we all know that it is tough to keep fish on while plugging by yourself With two missed opportunities by this point in the float I decided that it was time to Rock 'n' Row and get serious. The next hole produced the fish RT is holding and it just flat buried the middle rod. I just love it when the rods go down and stay down Willierower's fish was hotter than a Harlem car stereo too! It went postal from the get go and we had to chase it while it cleared the water several times. When it was my turn to sit up front, Willierower did a great job on the oars and put me into the fish that I'm holding which was also one out of the water son of a beeyotch! Great trip with the OREO's and for those that are wondering about RT's fish he is one helluva big guy and he dwarfs me at 220 lbs. Willierower gets props for rowing our two big asses down the last couple holes. 500+ pounds in the front of a driftboat is a handful for sure! Glad you guys had fun and look forward to fishing with you boys again soon. Peace out

Hehe, I see you finally took my advice RT. Now you've shown proof. Or did Parker do a "touch up" on more than just the hat? Just kidding. Nice steel and nice springer from wednesday too! Got some good bb shots there too. Who's the big guy in that second shot? Looks like your doin' a little one on one with him? Must be your son in the first pic? Looks like you were having a hard time gettin' around him. Must be losin' your touch. :p BTW, I certaining hope you haven't been dissin' me while I was gone RT. Haven't been on the board in about 6 days. Let's see, I'll just have to look at all the old topics/posts to find out. And if you have been, I won't share a great new website I found with you. :p j/k

Honestly, the only editing I did to the photos was RT's hat and magically made that plug go away in the fishes mouth! Oh wait.....

Hmmmmm, Willie lets see while fishing in Oregon you hook to but in Washington you hook nine. Looks like you might want to fish Washington more often:D:D:D:D
