Was it the fish that tore your drag up...or the fact that you keep the drag pinched down when not using your reel? That's what I figured! Anyone know where to aquire some drag washers for my Curado...in bulk? FJ...out.

FJ
Do you loosen the drag after every trip, or only on reels you use once or twice a year?
I never loosen the drag on my Curado, maybe that is why the drag now goes zzzzz....stick....zzzzz....stick....zzzzz....stick

It never hurts to keep your drag backed off any reel that is not in use...the hurt comes from leaving em in the vise!

ZZZZ... my reel does that now a days when I cast or freespool. Sounds kinda like metal on metal or something hard. Could those be the drag washers?

FS, you goin this weekend? i'll be there saturday all day and sunday all day cause were campin @ BC. Hope that helps rip, Tyler

Rip...you must be at the 150 fish plateau! :p Could be a weak thumbar spring...or a lazy thumb...but most likely a dirty reel. Sounds like a tune up is in order! FJ...out.

TTT, wasn't me up at the cowlitz. I'd rather stay away from combat fihsing.
Ah crap! the real is only about 5 months old. It has caught 1 fish and lost one, but made millions of casts. I always try to keep it out of the water, dirt, sand, egg goo, scent, you name it. I keep the drag tight, but fish with the real at least 1-2 times a week. Is there a way around drenching the real and using excessive oil. I bought the real from Fishreman's and I'm sure the warranty is still good?

If your curado drag is not crystel smooth just take it out clean your reel, wash the drag washer with a good dish detergent, rince with warm water and then use a hair dryer to thourghly dry and presto like new or better...

For drag washers, call Ollie Damon's in Portland OR. They have just about everything, and will mail to you.
