just as a dog or cat would if it had a hook in their mouth.........It showed people fishing on a pier in the salt somewhere. They are giving more of the story later!!!!!

About catch and release.. It does not occur to them that most catch and release occurs in cold water with plenty of oxeygen and with barbless hooks. Considering that water temp and barbed hooks were their only two arguments against catch and release well that shows thei bias. and their ignorance.

Let me guess the only thing they eat are weeds oh wait no those are alive as well maybe it hurts them too. Maybe they need are more advanced than we are and have star trek technology and have food made for them from atoms in a replicator LOL!!!!!!

Actually RA3, most C&R occurs in warm water with depleted oxygen. You see, there are way more bass and spiney ray fishers in the country than trout, steelhead & salmon anglers, that are doing C&R. So that point may be somewhat accurate. Where they mislead is the fact itself. Bass, perch, crappie et. al. do very well in warm water with low oxygen levels, and if handled properly, those facts shouldn't have any bering on their survival. Besides, we've all seen the bass shows. How much muscle fatigue and lactic acid buildup can a fish get when they go from being hooked to in the net in about 5 seconds.

I went out with a super-hot hardbody gal last weekend knowing she was a vegetarian, but I didn't know she was a PETA freak too! Then she goes into this schpiel about how chickens get their beaks cut off so they don't peck eachother and how animals are bled out before they die in slaughterhouses, etc. etc. This is all going in one ear and out the other because I'm thinking with "the other head" until.......

Seriously, fish are simple animals and do not have pain receptors on their nerve endings. This is why they can tear themselves up digging redds and still enjoy sex afterwards. People who claim fish feel pain are ignorant fruitarians. However, like most fanatics they revel in their ignorance and are dangerous because of it.

The PETA folks are just another lunatic fringe. Sad second generation "Bambi Syndrome' victems. The Friends of Animals bunch, (what ever happened to them?) tried to stop hunting years ago and couldn't pull it off. Now a similar bunch think they have picked an easier target and they will fail again. At some point in the future another such group of ding-bats will re-start the cycle. They are fanatics, just like dear old OBL and the white supremisists and, as such, cannot be convinced by science. So, if we can't convince them we have to out-talk them, out-spend them, and out-vote them.

Not sure if any one has addressed this on another thread, but PETA is lobying the State Parks Department to Ban fishing in all state run parks.

John Carlson of KVI had one of those PETA idiots on today and they are dead serious. I am going to send an E-mail the the State Parks Commissioner and let him know what I think of PETA's Idea. I engourage you to do the same.
