I've got a new rod in the works, and am going to go with a TH custom rod. I know some of you have one, what do you think of the quality of the finished rod? Is it everything you hoped it would be?
I'm going to get a Rainshadow 1264 blank built into a mooching rod,it's 10'6" with a 8-17lb line rating. Thanks.

I have two Steelhead rods and have two more fly rods in the works.
Highest quality craftmanship no complaints. You wont be sorry with TH or the Rainshadows for the price they are unbeatable.
I have a 1084, 1141, 1025, and a 5# fly rod. I have a 8# and a 3# fly rod in the works now. All my rods are the 43 million moduals. TH told me that rainshadow is comming out with 51 modulas salmon and steelhead rods soon. Honestly I dont know why they need anything better as their old ones feel as good as any IMX and are tuffer than the GL3's.

It's a done deal...the check is on it's way. I should be getting my new rod the first week of Aug. Now all I need is a new boat...my new rod is gonna look too sweet in my old boat.

Hey all you TH rod lovers
I have already decided I need to get a 1024 Rainshadow. I was just wondering, I love my friends Loomis 1024 because it is so light, but I do not like the price. Anyway how does the weight on the Rainshadows compare to a GL2 or GL3.

I have heard good things about TH rods. I am also surprised that TH himself has not chimed in yet. Normally he is all over this kind of thread. Maybe I will get the chance to test fish one of his rods some day...who knows...the opportunity for a lifetime customer might exist. FJ...out.

Did I ask about Loomis rods? No...I asked about the quality of a TH rod. I'm not looking for a brand war, just wanna hear from people that have had them make a rod, regardless of what brand it is. Loomis doesn't make a rod with the specs I'm looking for...and if they did I'm not paying the price they're asking. Thanks for the show of support of Loomis rods though.

Ya, well I'm just about to send my check in. Just one problem... should I get the 1143 in spinning or baitcasting if I'm gonna be throughing light jigs(to light for casting reels) and drift fishing?
I just can't decide!

I had Travis build me a custom rod this last winter and it's one beautiful rod. The rainshadow blank is nice. They do excellent work and it shows.

HBP, I don't have any experience with the TH rods (not yet anyways) just wondering though if you've used any similar rods for mooching? reason I ask is I have a Loomis 1025 (8-17) and tried mooching with it once, it was pretty much maxed out (imho) with 2 oz. of lead, I prefer 4. My Kenai Killer (12-25) is probably my lightest action, decent mooching rod. Just something to consider, good fishin.

You guys are great.... thanks for the kind words, that's what keeps us going. As for you Tiberman.. you need to quit creating all that smoke... because there really is a difference and it's not what you think Have you looked down the back of that Loomis rod you are fishing? try that next time out... Yes we have 51 million modulus blanks coming out sometime next fall/winter. hey rip, I like the 1143s (spinning) for lighter jig fishing.. Thanks again...

I like my TH1264. Real nice rod. Fun playing those summer steelies on it. Unfortunately the lower guide came off. I need to fix it or get it fixed.

AKKings...the rod I'm having built is a longer version of the rod I'm using now. I won't use anymore than 3oz. of lead,if I can't get to the bottom using 3oz. and backing down the tide's runnin' to fast, and I'm outta' there. My brother has the same rod I'm having built and it fishes 3oz. real nice. I run strictly 10lb mainline on my rods, so the smaller diameter helps in the lead dept. Thanks for your input though. If for some reason it doesn't perform the way I want, that's reason to buy another rod.

I now have 4 TH rods, and I love 'em. The craftmanship is great, and I already managed to break one tip off and TH replaced the rod with no hassle. I see he has a couple advertised over on the ad section...... I'm drooling.

I'd love to try out a TH 1025c or a TH 1141s, but with a kid on the way, looks like I'm SOL until TH let's me demo a few of his rods! In the meantime, I'll just use my old and aging fleet of Loomis, Allstar, Fenwick, and Lamiglass rods.

TH, thanks. I was wondering how well they compare to the scIV st croix blanks. In my opinion those are the best value rod that i've found, but i'm curious about yours. (have no desire to spend 400 for a loomis when the croix or maybe the th is just as good for less than 200) Most guys that own them are the same guys that wear sunglasses on a cloudy day. ain't i cool (not everyone, not starting a debate here)

I'd love to dog the cow.. haven't every done that! But we did manage some pig chinook on the Rogue Bay yesterday.. #53, 38#, 29#, 27# nice four fish limit.

Holy Crap, TH. Nice fish! Shouldn't you be in summer school though? And btw - I got TH to make a GL3 1143 blank into a spining model for me a couple years ago and I love it. Great craftsmanship and detail you won't find in a mass-produced rod. Didn't break the bank on it either. Bruce

I like the TH HS 1023c 8'6" 12-25# xfast for all of my bay/river trolling situations. Great sticks... No summer school this year Bruce... I need to get that Rogue Bay article to you so you can ship it to Nick.. one of these days...

I was standing there when the lady took that pic. The big one truly was a PIG. Quite a few big fish in that river.... I was suprised. My buddy and I were in the area working, and neither one of us with our boats... bummer. Anyways, we rented a little boat, and a couple of old sturgon style boat rods and managed to hook 3 land 1 that afternoon. It looked like a guppy in compared to whats hanging in the pic above.

Thanks Beezer...I went to Greg's before I sent TH my money. Greg had some very nice rods built that I could look at. The reason I didn't go with Greg's is that TH would build the same rod for $40 less, and the time frame was the same.If Greg's was a faster turn-around time I would have paid more to get it faster. I am going to go thru Greg's rod building class. My wife heard that and just shook her head...she says all I need is another expensive hobby.
