Hi everyone, where do you guys suggest I drop my crab pots off if i am launching out of Eddie Vine ramp?? I have never tried crabbing, so I would like to get some info before I go out,(i.e. bait how deep..etc..) Also, how is the action for silvers so far in the west point/meadow pt area??

I don't where you'd put your pots out there since i've never been there. But for bait I'd suggest some old chicken drumsticks, or just plain old chicken, it's always worked for me in the Canel.

I always used turkey drumsticks for bait, but found a bait I like better. It's made by smelly jelly and is a crab attractant that's a paste form just like their fish scents. I used to use it with the turkey, but ran out of turkey once and just used the paste. We caught as many crabs with just the paste and no turkey,so now that's all I use. Just smear some on the bait cage and go to it.

As for depth,up here in Everett I always have the best results by setting the pots at LEAST 75' deep and sometimes up to 125'. Hope this helps.

Check out my report posted the other day for Jeff Head/Possession. In a word, the crabbing was incredible off Shilshole. Used turkey leg and had over 35 crab in the two pots. wow! laugh
