I live close to the Willapa. I tried corky's. I have a boat that would work on the river from launch in South Bend to the Hwy 6 bridge, I just do not know how to fish it. I know that the best time is after a rain but, what to use & where to use it = ---> I'm clueless... It's frustrating to drive past South Bend to get to Chinook or Ilwaco, when I know there's fish in the Willapa... Any help would be appreciated...Max

EGGS EGGS and more EGGS

Kings love fresh eggs. When I fish tidal water I drift eggs with only a split shot so it looks natural as it floats down river. If your fishing where theres current, fish eggs under a float with a few split shot to hold them down. Dont forget to place some shrimp oil on them.

I have a small 14' sled that I fish Willapa Bay with. Right now is an excellent time to troll plugged herring for salmon. I usually put in at Smith creek and run out into the bay. If it gets sloppy it is only about a 10 minute run to the launch. A couple hours before and after high tide seems to work.
