Sunday - Where would you fish? The lower Green or Meadow Point. I don't have downriggers, so I am forced to use deep six or pink ladys. To me it could be a toss up. What do you think?

I would stay home and play with myself on Sunday. I would fish on Monday when the people with jobs are at work.

LZZ - thanks for the advice but I have a wife for that! laugh I am taking a friend fishing for his first silver salmon and was just wondering where would be the best bet. With the derby going on I was thinking that Shilshole would be packed and a little to difficult for a guy trolling deep six's but if the bite was really good then......

Also I plan on fishing Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday...From now til mid October I only work Thu Fri and Sat. I plan on hitting Meadow Point during the week. Will I see you out there?

I would do Elliot Bay. A lot of fish and not much boat traffic.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will start at Elliott and if nothing happening maybe make the run to West Point.....long run I know but I don't think that we will have any problems.

Elloit to West Point a long run?? In that speed boat of yours? laugh You'll be there in 10 minutes tops. I wouldn't worry too much about boat traffic even with the Deep 6s. Keep to the outside of the pack. As you saw the other day, the general area is prety large and coho don't really bunch up that much. If you're launching at Seacrest zip across to 4 mile rock. Basically you can troll up that entire side of Magnolia to West Point and you won't be in a bunch of boats. Four Mile rock is a good spot to drop your crab pots. Just look for the BIG Rock along the shoreline half way between West Point and the Magnolia Bridge.
And BTW, guys that are using downriggers also have a responsibilty to see that you are using Deep 6s and they should vary their troll to respect your fishing method as well. (i.e. they don't cut too close behind your boat).Your responsibility is to avoid cutting in front of someone causing them to have to make a quick turn to avoid your trolling gear. It's a two way street out there. We all have to be aware of what the other guy is using as well as how we are fishing.

Saturday was good in the areas Mike mentioned above. We fished West point for the morning bite then worked our way trolling all the way down to Duwamish head. 5 coho, 3 blackies c&r'd. I ran the biggest Coho up to the Everett weigh-in and he showed up at 8lb 12oz. frown Thought he looked better frown

Biggest fish of the day at 3:30 was in the 14 range. Some idiot walked up with a 16+ blackmouth and tried to wiegh it in ...felt pretty stupid when ten guys told him he didn't have a coho.

All in all an excellent day on the water. Now to get to sleep so I can check out that moonset-sunrise again.
