That's an easy one Robbin Rhoades. He is an ex Seattle cop. Sober, reliable and a damn good fisherman.

For big numbers of fish Dec and January. For the hogs Feb-April. Robbins number is 1-800-767-4749

I like Tandy Charlie. Good guy, hard working, sober and works the river over hard. I don't think it matters who you pick if you do the December thing on Cook Creek. I've heard it's more like fishing in a fish bowl. Cook Creek is the creek that feeds the hatchery and dumps into the Quinault. Anyway Tandy's number is
360-276-4113

I'll second that motion for Robbin.

Here's his web site. Check out the Quinault Guide Service .

All the above guides are good, but I will stick with my cousin Archie Howard. Price wise I think he has the best rate and has always put me fish and have a good time. Just an exsample , last year about this time, had a huge silver run, thru spinners all day, hooked over 26, landed 16, smallest was #12 largest was #18. Can't tell you how many I can home with, but also came home with #24 of eggs. If you want a phone # e-mail me. He knows all the guides over there.

Thanks for all the great info. Sounds to me like I had better book a couple of trips one in Dec. and one late Feb. or early March.

Bardo's nickname is Chevy!

I had a great time with Inky. That guy is a character! If you are faint of heart, or easily offended, use someone else. If you want to be able to talk however you want, without the worry of upsetting anyone, Inky gets the nod, that is if "Chevy" doesn't still have him on retainer.

Just be careful when he asks you to hand him the fish knocker. eek

I have also fished with Inky and had a blast! Also, hearing Robin Rhodes was such a great guide I phoned him and left four messages, with NO return phone calls. I don't care how good a guide is, it's only common courtesy to return a call!

I have fished with all of the above mentioned guides including a few others on the Quinault. Robbin is my choice. I fished with Robbin a week ago just after the rain began. Once again he worked hard all day, dawn til dark. We stay in his rental house which is on the river a short walk to the boat across his front lawn. His new sled is comfortable and the house is too. Be sure to hit JJ's for a great breakfast and a very good sack lunch for the day...Lunch with one sandwich is $6.00 and with two sandwiches it's $7.00...go figure. Still searching for that 40# steelhead which is no doubt coming to the Quinault this winter.
