Too windy out there now, but wondering if anyone's been out in search of blackmouth south area 10 or north area 11? cool

I fished Pt. Defiance on Fri. We fished for 3 hrs with just a bunch of shakers for our efforts.There was 8 other boats out and we saw one nice fish landed 8-10lbs. On the bright side though...I have never seen as much bait in the water as yesterday. We must have seen 20 different bait balls,the birds were everywhere and the screen on my fishfinder was black with bait! cool

That reminds me of why I stopped fishing winter blackmouth. A few years ago you could count on a keeper for every 10-20 shakers. And, these days you can actually see unbelievable bait concentrations and NOT catch fish. I gave up trying to figure it out, used to be a limit was automatic if you put your time in. For this state 'fisherman-provided' fishery I expect more, I guess.
