i'm a Ranger stationed at Ft Lewis, although i have spent all of my young life fishing, it has been down south around Texas, for largemouth bass etc. leaders, corkies and the whole mess has me lost, i managed to stumble my way through a morning at the barrier dam with a few decrepit kings and one silver fit for the dinnertable, and that was all it took, now i'm hooked but i need someone to show me the ropes, i know, i know, i'm
"that guy" that you see casting over everyone's line, dropping his car keys in the river, and just plain falling down for no reason, but hey, you were once that guy too, any tips would help!

BTW, you will be have a good opportunity to hone your skills on the Nisqually soon. It has a large run of Chum salmon that should be starting soon. Those dogs will give you a good work out, as well as having you tie new leaders after they have tried to spool you. It will make for good practice for more serious fishing.

Good luck.
