I guess 500 career posts makes me a "spawner". I hope at least I'm a steelhead so I have a chance to come back again and again!! I'll probably have to keep it under 1000 so I don't become a "carcass".
Bob, how about a "repeat spawner" designation at 1000?
Some highlights of the last few years on this board leading up to "spawner"...
Lots of mostly respectful discussions regarding the law and politics surrounding the management of steelhead.
The creation of the Wild Steelhead Coalition by several of us who met here on a thread called "Catch and Release and Possible Legal Scenarios" about two years ago. The WSC has gotten a lot done since then.
Uncountable amounts of good tips, given and taken, by a few thousand mainly good folks who care both about the resource and its proper use by recreational fishermen.
Many current event notifications from the members about the issues that are important, but not well advertised in the more mainstream media.
Lastly, and maybe most importantly, the up to the minute reports about weather, river conditions, and fishing opportunities. For all the bad things about the internet (i.e., anonymity leading to bad attitudes and false information), nowhere else can you share the most current conditions.
I guess this is as good a place as any to thank Bob and all the members here for having this resource available and for using it to keep us all better informed, educated, and successful as fishermen. Thanks to the moderators, too, for keeping it somewhat on topic!
Thanks, everyone!
Fish on...
Todd.
