I know this is the easy way out, but can anyone suggest a book on NW rivers that discusses Put-ins, Takeouts, and basic river conditions one could expect.

I plan on staying pretty close to home this year, and maybe even next year, learning all of the Satsop and Wynoochee, but I would like to use a book as a referrence for my explorations.

Thanks in advance!

Andy

I seem to remember something floating around out there, but I can't say for sure. You might try looking for a rafting / kayking book for that sort of info .. it won't help you on the fishing end, but as far as access and what to expect floating, it might help. Do remember that rivers are always changing and a book can't keep up to date with those changes!

Yup, Washington Whitewater has some good info for putins, takeouts and whatnot and they classify the rivers from intermediate to expert. Though I don't think it has the Satsop or Nooch or many down in your parts....check it out at Amazon.
