It's easy to avoid the threads that aren't about fishing. Besides, only pinko-communists don't like college football.

Only comes up a few times a year...besides two of the best things in the world are combined...Northwest Fishing (damn I miss it!!!) and the Apple Cup. Just some good healthy ribbing between folks who (usually except Apple Cup time) get along.

I guess count me in to that group. I dont hate colledge ball, but I definately wont be missing a day of fishing to watch the game. I may however put on a set of headphones but more than likely not. I'll let my girlfriend tell me about it when I get home.

Honestly I didnt expect one response to this thread. It was just an observation after reading that other heated thread. I mean name calling? Cursing. Whats the world coming to. I agree that a bit of sports talk is good for the soul but hopefully these people dont meet on the river some day and try to drown each other.

It's called being human. True, I'm here for the fishing and fishing related discussions. But I've known a few hardcore steelheaders who are so one dimensional that they can't carry on a conversation about anything else. I'm not saying that's bad, but it is so . . . well, . . . one dimensional; not very human.

I don't care much for the trash talk, but some friendly banter between mascot rivals adds another dimension to our lives. As JG and others posted, if you don't like the title of a thread, you don't have to read it. Sort of reminds me of the censorship advocates. It isn't good enough to steer clear of that which they dislike; they have to try to control what's available to others.

The threads on this board are overwhelmingly fishing related. If I click on one that is outside my range of interest, I'm only a click away from getting away from it. Bob's web site has evolved into the best discussion board for northwest fishing. I'm not gonna' get uptight over some dogs and cats growlin' and hissin'.

Nonetheless, I appreciate the reminder. Guess I'll stick a tape in the VCR, as rivers look to be dropping back into shape for tomorrow.

Myself, I'm fishing the morning tide for blackmouth, going home and cleaning up the boat and changing the oil, and then sitting down to watch the game at 3:30 - I'll lose maybe an hour of daylight, big wup. Hope all you non-fans do real well in that last hour of daylight after the rest of us pound it all day

I enjoy the breaks from time to time. They seem to go in spurts and that's fine by me. I like to think if someone has anything at all they'd like to share with others here (save for the usual no-nos) ... they can feel like they're able to.

I am sure there will be a mad rush to get some fishing done early in the morning tomorrow so everyone can return home in time for the game.

Maybe they should do like they do on TV. Put a rating on it so If you don't like this kind of stuff you don't have to read it. I like it because it makes it intertaining. I'm sitting home watching kids and can't get out today so I have to have something to do and this is it.
