Well, I tried. Drove up to the head of Hood Canal and when I saw the whitecaps out of the north I turned around and went back to South Sound. Tried Green Point, no bait or anything else. Tried Pt. Evans after I marked bait but nothing. Finally got into bait and shakers off Vashon, a couple might have been legal but if I have to think about measuring them they are too small for me to keep rolleyes

Did not touch a thing at Elger Bay or the Racetrack on Saturday. There was bait around, just no fish of any size.

The outer bar at Possession had a few in it on Saturday. We caught 4 that were nearly identical - 20 inches, so they went right back in. We were running a lot of different gear, but they all hit a glow/green spoon behind a HotSpot flasher at 80 feet.

We also watched a sea lion take a salmon off another guys' line. He got most of his gear back, but the salmon went to it's new owner.

We went 1 for 2 yesterday. My buddy Geoff buttoned up at about 10:30 but lost the fish about 20 feet down while the fish was screaming towards the surface. I bonked a 24incher at about 11. 120ft down mooching herring. We stuck to West Point the whole morning.

Only saw one other net out.

Just kidding.

A little slower than normal but got mine at about 10. 100' in 110 to 130 water. Working spoons behing a green hotspot. Water was very dirty due to the rain. So unless you just about hit them in the head with whatever you are fishing with it will be a little tough. By mid week it should be hot again.

As far as the water being dirty due to rain, the effect is only on the surface of the water. The fresh water that is coming out of the rivers dirty is lighter than the salt water of the sound so it floats above the salt water. If you were to put on diving gear and go down you would see that it is only 5 to 10 feet deep.

Yeah, that's what I thought DR. Maybe just too slow of a tide that day or something confused

Flood or ebb? On the flood, I fish more NW towards Cutts Is out the in deep stuff. On the ebb, I start at 150' work out from there following the contour. Sometimes on the flood, the bait will hold in tight off the Fox Island sand spit...

I'll be home at the end of the week after a 6 week hiatus... Will be home to definitely give Green a go before the Narrow's Derby... Hope to see you there!

A bud and I got blackmouth at 13 and 8 pounds Saturday in Saratoga Passage, lost another good one, turned back a 6 pounder and shook about five little ones.

I know that fresh is not as dense as salt. Thanks though escapee.

The point I am making is that with all the dirty water on top, all the crap and setiment in it not as much light gets through...hense darker deeper, than normal, especially with all the rain we had. There was just a whole lot of crap out there last weekend!!! ....My thoughts anyway.

I am betting that the last few days for the season should be pretty hot laugh laugh Well...hotter than it has been anyway!!
