Chums finally make it up that far? I have been waiting. I wish those nasty, no-bitin' silvers would move along, they have been in there too long. Hey, that rhymes. laugh

nope, no fresh chum in the green yet. don't waste your time.

if you want chum you will have to go south, then hang a right onto hwy 101.

Wait a minute. The chum in the green that I've seen are way past their fresh stage. Was up @ metzler after work Thursday and saw a ton of half rotten dogs. Lot's of guys keeping them though - sick! Hooked into a bright winter run and she ran right through my legs. Anyhow, snap....goodbye. Don't waste your time. There's a ton of chum in the carbon right by your house. They don't look pretty, but one can't be too picky this late in the game. Nisqually should be kickin in a couple of weeks...
Good luck

I drove up to Whatcom Creek (Bellingham) this morning. Lots of chums up there! Took home a 10# hen, eggs were in excellent shape.

I'll second the vote for the Carbon. Fished it for a couple of hours this morning, hooked 5 landed 2. All were in good shape, strong and fun. First time I tried jigs for them, it works! I need a stiffer jig rod for those bad dogs though.

jigs seem to work? do you think they'd go after a corkie/yarn rig? I've never tried fishin a jig before. Doesnt look too complicated though. tight lines!!

if you find the right slots, the skok has a bunch of nice chum..my first two regular spots yielded nothing(netters did well), finally fished across the river from one of my old fav spots, 7 out of ten casts had bites and hooked all of them, ended up hooking about 30 chum, 90% bright, only one foul hook

Fished the Green around Auburn and landed two. One which was a chrome bright chum. Nice fish. The problem was I was targeting steelhead. Did get a steelie, but it was a summer run, skinny and spawned out. Still looking for my first winter run of the year.

I checked out Hwy 18 and down by Boeing and did not see fish. Guess I better check the areas in between. rolleyes

I did stop by the Soos Creek Hatchery and looked at the fish tally board. It said they have had 43K coho come back this year. Last year, they had 41K coho come back. beathead
