considering Gregs prices and the cost of shipping, I would think he would be hard to beat

Anglers Workshop, in Woodland, WA, is my favorite. 360-225-9445 is the phone number, I believe. www.anglersworkshop.com

Teds Sporting Goods in North Lynnwood on 99 used to have a good selection of rod building supplies. Or try Cabela's for a catalog of rod building supplies. Janns Netcraft also used to have rod building supplies. Good Luck

i am thinking about building a rainshadow 1025 casting rod and i was wondering if anyone had and ideas as to how many guides to put on one of these. My loomis gl3 1024 uses 8 plus a tip, but it touches the blank all over the place when it flexes. this hasn't bothered me before, but the more i have been reading I am starting to think this is a no no for custom rods. will the rod perform better with more guides or will the increase in weight make me regret adding the extra guides
I was thinking about going 10, 8, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, tip

I built a RS 1143 over the summer,I used 10 guides plus the tip. The guides were 10,10,8,8,8,8,6,6,6,6, then tip. For an 8.5' rod I'd put at least 9 guides and tip.
By the way, if you don't know ,an 1143 is 9.5'

I thought Shoff's closed? I looked at their website and they have good deals on RS blanks. Did they close the store to become i-net only?

Sorry HBP! LOL Anglers is still close to your house. Does everyone know what the "Concept" is ? The concept "Is not correct" I'll leave it as this.... I won't get into apples and peaches with the guides and spacing. Jon maybe a later thread. LOL
