"Bait Thug" would make a pretty good moniker...

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

Don't do it if it would piss you off if someone didit to you.

There are those who will be pissed off at your mere presence. Let it go. There is a lot of River.

Be considerate. Being in the driftboat most of the time, I will yeild to those on the bank. I always try to say something nice to the others on the water. Who know's you may need there help. Karma goes along ways.

I don't know how many times I've seen a fly guy work through a drift and move on...up to his waist, or higher, walking right where the fish lay. It comes from both sectors bait/fly. I don't believe it's people being rude, per say, just ignorance to the effect they have on others. In other words they are rookies. I'm willing to hike a long ways to avoid them.

A bait thug is someone who wants to hook a fish in the mouth. Go up to the Samish and use a jig. Wait til the third or fourth bite then set the hook. I hooked alot of fish on a plain jig no hooks no feathers no nothing. Someone up there says this jig looks like a shrimp, this one looks like eggs. I hooked just as many if not more on a plain lead jig. What's that suppose to look like? Can you say flossing! Once in a blue moon you'll hook a king in another place other than the right side of the mouth. But jigs do have one advantage up the you don't have to burn up your steelhead eggs. Don't mean to vent but as Curt Angle says "It's the TRUTH" OHH well we all snag fish accidently, just release unless it's your only source of food then keep them. FISH ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what is "low holing" anyway. Maybe I was the jerk that did it to you (out of ignorance).

If I have ever done this to someone, I apologize. Once I find out what it is, I'll stop.

Maybe a thread on river etiquette is in order.

I have more problems with seals than I do with fishermen. I wish we could teach them little *******s some etiquette. Like if I have a fish on the line, wait till he gets off, if he does, then go eat his ass! Gotta' be coss-eyed- one eye on the rod tip, one on the seals. People? At least you can let the uninformed know how it is and they will usually apologize they didn't know and fall right in line. The few who take offense and flash the communication finger-lets feed them to the seals instead!! beathead
