Sitting here this morning putting together some rags and got to thinking what everyone's favorite colors combos are? I guess my overall favorite would be Pink and White. smile

I have two favorites. Shrimp Pink/Cerise or light orange/Cerise. These are the ones I fish the most.

Everybody has their favorites that work for them.

These are the color combos that I make when I do rags. They all work and have all produced but My faves listed above are my go too rags.

P.S. pay no attemtion to the homemade Areoflys.

Rich,

Those homeade aeroflies look darn nice....any way we could prod a bit of "how to" on those? A dollar a piece is pretty steep for a drift bobber bought at the store, what does it cost you to make one?

Thanks,
Gusty

Now here is a 'real man's' rag....built up some of these last spring and caught a fish on this very one just after taking the picture!

Truthfully the only differnce I see in your rag than the ordinary rag is your little pink grub on the hook. I predict sportco will be out of these for the remainder of steelhead season flog have noticed that big of a difference using these grubs?

Rags have been my go-to confidence choice for more than 5 yrs. Like most other lures, I think the color depends on the conditions.
Red/cerise, white, and orange for colored water and yellow, chartreuse, and blue for clearer water seem to work best for me.

Best luck fishing for steelhead for me is roe and the rag soaked in shrimp scent.

I guess the thing I like best about them is the fish tend to hold it longer in their mouth which gives me a better chance of a hookup.

Yeah ... that was fun in the snow! A classic pic that I chuckle at every time I go past it on the HD. laugh

Remember, we started the day with an awfully pretty girl ... a lot of snow on that bank!

And then it was almost impossible to drag you guys out of this hole smile

We'll have to do it again one of these days ... I'll order some warmer weather next time!

It has to be Snowing 1in an hour, cold, low water and gin clear for that giant rag to work!!!!!!! Oh you have to stay at eating breakfast for an extra hour, while the guide drinks an extra 96 oz mug of coffee before venturing to go fishing.
