Why are people getting sucked into distractions from what is really important?? Shouldn't this be a local story in NC and NOT national news?! Next we will have threads speculating on what happened to the chick in Aruba...

The most ridiculous part is when idiots try and tell you what "probably" happened based on news accounts and their own bigotry, not facts! Seems Bush and Co. have taught a certain segment of our population to believe everything that is told to them via the news media and accept it as fact...

The whole court cases as tv commentary/news is just wrong. It's getting to the point that cases receive so much pretrial press that it's hard to find people without preconceived ideas of the guilt or innocence of the parties involved. The pretrial court 'news' can compromise the integrity of our whole court system. While I believe in the right of the people to know, there has to be some middle ground to provide information but not to the extent of the sensationalism of the tv mouth pieces.
The talking heads and their 'experts' are no better than a supermarket tabloid.

In my opinion the aspect of this story that I find appalling is that Duke Lacrosse sporting gear is selling like hotcakes and Duke is doing everything they can to capitalize on it... Sad in soo many ways!
