Saturday Night. Right in front of the Oyster House. 8 Black guys. One bumped into him on the sidewalk as he was leaving the restaurant and when he said "excuse me" the guy yelled "F--- You, Honkey!!" and they all piled on him.
Ah, Yet another Lakefair is in the air.

Yeah--He's fine. he actually got in a few good licks I guess, and now that Ive talked to him in a sober state of mind the number of dickheads was more like half what he said last night. Still though, not a fun time. It's why I have a CWP too. Almost got carjacked by some Homies in Tacoma. Went down to Bullseye the next morning and paid for my Browning 9mm. This Shiite happens every Lakefair.

Lakefair can be fun during the day, but after many of the revelers have been walking around in the sun drinking all day, it gets much less fun in the evening.
Glad to hear your buddy is OK.
Fish on...

Todd Mostly the problem is Hillbillies from The Hinterlands out to "give sum city folk sum learnin'" or it's [Bleeeeep!] from Lacey and/or Lakewood trying to show their friends how bad they look in thier doo-rags by trashing some poor white drunk who they find easy pickings. The trouble is inevitably near the beer garden and the fountain, ages 18 to 23. Last year there was a stabbing and a shooting.

sucks to hear about your friend...ive been jumped too, by 5 or six when i was young, on a dirt road- came out of it with both set of teeth thru top and bottom lips, broken rib, raw (pizza) knees and elbows, two broken ear drums, broken nose, two black eyes and broken blood vessels in both eyes to the point where there was no white left in either eye, misc bruises and lumps everywhere and two broken knuckles in my right hand from puntching back without looking.
getting jumped sucks as it is one of the most powerless feelings you can have.... the best thing to do is run if you can or get yourself to the safest spot you can away from any walls or corners so that if you can escape you can do it easier. mace or pepper spray is good to carry as well because this kind of thing often happens around bars where you cannot bring your pistol, if you were going in, so your weapon will most likely be in your truck if you have a cwp.
the one i like the most is a pepper spray fountain pen. it looks just like a pen and is very easy to carry without it bugging you like a can of bear spray or larger unit will. i allways have one on me when im in central america or mexico as you can stay out of machette range and still hit the assailant with the spray
the heel hook and the arm bar are two fairly simple submissions to learn. i imagine that you can google either of these and find some simple instructions for them. it is no guarantee by any means but is about the best chance you have other than a rear naked choke where you can put the unlucky one that gets caught in it on top of you with your back on the ground and protect yourself with his body to some extent as he will pass out in about 20 seconds and you can use his limp body for some protection while still havin ome limited protection for you head... when you get jumped chances are you will be on the ground no matter how tough you think you are and both of these submissions(heel or the arm) are easy to get on someone when there are multiple sets of legs and arms around ya.. the unlucky one who gets caught by the submission will scream so loud that he will beg his friends to stop...even still, as soon as you can, escape and run

DAMN, bro. I hate to hear stories like that.

it was one of the worst things ive been thru, i had a friend with me too, that is/was no fighter and couldnt have done anything if he tried....he still today is disturbed by it.... he had to actually walk away because he couldnt take the sounds anymore when i was getting held by the hair with my hands held behind my back and taking knee after knee to the face.....
changed my life forever. i remember being in a bathtub before getting taken to the hospital and the tub was totally red like a chum bucket.... after that i made the decision that i would never ever, ever get beat up again.... of course that is best accomplished by not putting yourself into situations where it is more likely to happen...... i will still make the decision to run if necessary, as i get older, i am valuing my health more and more and ego heals alot faster than the body does....
when faced with the fight or flight decision- i allways tell people to look at the persons ears- if they have colliflower ear(mutilated ears from repeated scarring).... run or tell the person that your sorry and they are right and part peacefully..... dont ever let a confrontation occour with someone with bad ears

Lupo, I don't often agree with you, but the last post was one of the most sensible ones I can attribute to you. I'm sorry you had such a wretched experience. good point about the ears. I was never that smart. I hit em with my best shot and if they're still standing it's time to leave. Too old for that crap anymore. viva Cwp and the piece that goes with it. pun intended.

Seen the Tacoma police just spent $500,000 on a new gang unit to try and stop this before it gets as bad as it was in the 80's. I think a great deal of it is directly related to the massive expansions that have been going on at Ft. Lewis. They are building those El Cheapo townhouse developments on every spare acre around DuPont and Hawks Prairie they can find to try and accomodate the influx of personnel and their offspring. Wont be more than 10-20 years before those labyrinthine, postage stamp, cookie cutter developments turn into worse ghettos than Gary, Indiana. They just need to start shooting them on sight. They can plant weapons on 'em before the investigators & media show up.

Had a big article a couple months ago in the paper about them and all they did was interview the single moms, never did mention they're dads.
I agree, start shooting on sight and do the world a favor. Another 15-20 years and we'll be dealing with these idiots offspring. Knnow it all too well. Lived a few months on Yakima Ave. That was back when Trang Dai happened. Just a few blocks down. Then I moved to Ruston. It was nice having Barney McCracker searching & ticketing everyone that rolled through with heavy bass thumping out of thier lowrider pimpmobile. I actually felt very safe there. I attended the community picnics, just so they'd recognize me as a local resident. When my car took a dump right there in the middle of traffic he hit his lights, got out yelling, then saw who I was, and helped me push it up into an alley out of traffic, then offered me a ride home.
