I need an opinion from you auto guys, better if you do auto body. I just had an accedent with my 2006 Nissan Frontier. Looking at the pictured do you think that they will repair the truck of total it? I'm really hoping for fixing it due to the fact I am still slightly above the current value of the truck on what I owe for it.

You will never, never, ever find me driving another domestic vehicle again!IMHO Ford and Chevy both deseve the reputaion they gained about being "unreliable" There is reason there are still 90% of all ford still found on the roadway, the other 10% made it home.

My piece of crap Ford F-150 4x4 (bought new in 1979 by my father) gave up the ghost pretty early...when I gave it to a family friend to use on his farm in Puyallup, it had 675,000 miles on the original motor...

First On Race Day!

Fish on...

Hmmm...I was *almost* there, too...with the dropping water, and coming deluge, it seemed like a decent bet, and with the road closed it seemed that the Salmon might actually be a river I'd be willing to fish in yesterday, too...

F'n work...hardly ever gets in the way, but it sure did yesterday.

Fish on...

Remind me not to buy a Nissan. That running gear is cheap pot-metal garbage. I've seen stronger springs on a Bowflex.

Anyway, thankee for the river report Stam, duly noted.

Stam ,

Im shure would have expected a whole lot more to fix it. That just blowes me away! I looked at the resale value for the truck and it's up around 24,000 so I don't think it would be a total. That's huge load off of my mind. Any tips for when the adjuster looks at it? You are completely right on the axle pulling out of the rear of the tranny. Shoul dI make shure they replace the tranny seal? Thanks for the help!

My 98 Ranger ext cab 4.0 4X4 just crossed 110,000 and has never had a single problem even though I beat the crap out of it and tow a boat all summer and fall.

Stam-I was referring to the thickness and girth of the springs, axle, and shocks.
rolleyes

The only reason I ended up choosing Ford over Dodge was more brand familiarity with Ford/International vs Dodge/Cummins.
It was close though. Consumer Reports also swayed me. I already had an experience with both GM & the Co that makes Chevy's Diesel, and wouldn't touch them again. Allison Transmissions just aren't enough to make them worth it.

Toyota's just fine, I come from a 'Yota family, and the reasons I didn't get a Tundra was my dad and brother both got one right before I went truck shopping, and they dont have solid front axles.

12/8 Stam. 12/8.

Another good push of rain and I'd highly recommend bringing two fillet knives and an extra big cooler.
