I have been on the Quinault and Queets monthly bringing home coho to 18lbs (as seen in the photos) and Steelies to 17lbs. However i just got the "no more until I go" . I would like to take her on a "HEATED BOAT" just to keep my head above water. And yes before I married her I asked to see a up to date fishing laicense (she had one) but I didnt ask -- do you like cold weather?-- Any ideas on a warm fishing trip, Heated boat ?

First of all its too bad fish loser, that your back bone is as limber as a noodle in my soup and that you couldnt make it through a commitment. And for you metal slowjo, did you ever think that it might be the wad of cash i threw down to send her to the mall when she gave it back to me and ask to do some comfortable fishing to get away from the two wonderful boys that she gave me that arent quite old enough to go with me yet. Malbe I was wrong thinking that someone on this board could possably have a good idea rather than sitting and hammering on the new guy.

Mexico is the heated boat answer! I've gone to Zihuatanejo the in Feb. the last 4yrs and its a hoot. Lots of sails and dorado, wahoo, rooster. The ave, temp is 87 and the humidity is about 90%. If your gonna survive you gotta be in a boat, what a sad thing.

Buy some propane heaters. Much cheaper than Mexico.

Hey Cohofshr. Lighten up. I think the comments made by the other guys are nothing but a way of creating some humor. You left yourself wide open for some comical potshots. Your skin needs to get a little thicker if you're taking stuff like that to heart. What are you going to do when someone really flames you?

I would also suggest Mexico or Baja. Your idea of warm and her idea of warm may be different things. Saltwater fishing is a hoot. The fish are strong and it's tough to beat the weather. I know my wife would be rather be sipping a Corona in the sun while catching a wahoo or dorado, then curled up next to a sunflower heater in a pi*s down pouring rain in 40 degree weather. If you want her to go so bad, make it fun for her, and experience something new.

It's all good man. Take a deep breath and enjoy life.

TRY SCOTTS FISHING GUIDE SERVICE. HE HAS A GREAT BOAT AND A HUGE HEATER. 360-482-4583. THE FISHING WAS SO GOOD THAT MY WIFE DIDNT EVEN HAVE TIME TO ASK FOR THE HEATER TO BE TURNED ON.

Maybe a charter boat where she can watch her rod from inside a nice heated cabin would do.

Take her on a real fishing trip. She obviously knows that fishing is important to you. She probablly also knows that getting in the way of fishing is going to be a struggle, so she has decided to try joining you. I took my wife on a 13 hour trip down the Ho for Spring Chinook. While I don't recommend this for your own sanity, it worked out rather well. She now knows that I'm a lunatic, and allows me to fish whenever I want. I actually bet her $100 that she couldn't make it through the trip without complaining. She made it to 1:00 before she finally exploded....... (It was pretty damn cold for a rainy haily stormy day in May) We finally caught a springer at about 7:00 in the evening..... She will now only consider fishing if I take her on a half day float in the middle of the summer..... which is fine by me. It makes for a funny story to tell around the dinner table as well...... (I would recommend bringing a propane heater, even if it is a small one!!! )
My brother was succesful at turning his fiance into a true steelheader by starting her out with short trips. She now catches 10-15 steelhead a year. She is a trooper though and doesn't mind the cold.

Mexico is a great alternative, just not as cheap.

Been there before. Couple of suggestions.

No cotton. Anywhere. All polypropylene (sp), wool & gortex or good rain gear.

Instant hand & boot warmers. you can also get a product called Thermo care which are large instant warmers for the back etc. - they work great & produce alot of heat.

Even though their core temperature may be hot, if the ladies nose is cold you'll here about it. So go get her a nice face warmer like those ski masks.

A big wide brimmed Outdoor Research rain hat.

The warmest fluffiest boots & socks you can find.

Insulate her bottom from the seat too.

Hot cocoa.

I've taken Full Freezer's approach.......warm, water proof clothes plus a pocket warmer or two thrown in. You might also consider floating half the river with your wife, doing a drop off and meeting her at the take out. Usually, I find my GF plus dog curled up in the truck, heat cranked and either a book in hand or zonked out sleeping.

I don't understand. What did fishkisser, or fish loser as you put it, say that made you so hot? Remeber man, the typed word can only mean what you decide it to mean. If you think this is an outright attack on a new guy, your very mistaken. Laugh a little, have fun, like any of this makes any difference to anyone. I went through two wives before I found a woman who would sit in my drift boat all day in the rain, ice and snow and not complain. The other would not even get in the boat. How many of your wives or girlfriends would do this?

I do have one tip, actually, that I scraped off the wet noodle that used to be my heart...when you're in a boat--whether drifting a river or on the salt--have some sort of...uh...device that is comfortable for females to urinate in. A porta potty is best, but in a small drift boat even a rubbermaid bowl can mean a lot to a girl...

coho, first start with the clothes dress her up in lots of warm clothes throw on some neoprene waders a columbia raincoat, oilskin hat (very fashionable) then get a coleman procat propane heater stick it in the bow of the driftboat, thermos of coffee. padded driftboat seat. say I LOVE YOU alot, and i mean ALOT . and tell her that you never had a better fishin buddy,, . good luck mate.. bf

Good luck my friend. I went through this with my wife, and yes, I did take her to Mexico. She eventually divorced me and yes fishing was part of the problem. I finally had to admit I have a sickness - that's what fishing is - a sickness and now I can be as sick as I want. My wife and I are still great friends and she still gets me a Cabella's gift certificate for Christmas. Oh, and one other thing, when we were in counseling the counselor likened my fishing to having a mistress - that really helped. I wish you the best.

Get a "bikini top" for your boat and a below deck heater/fan for your driftboat. It is the best set-up I've ever seen on a driftboat. A few of the guides in Forks have them and they are awesome. The tops run about $250 and the heaters run a few bucks less. If you are interested e-mail me and I'll try to hook you up, but it may take a few days to get back with an answer.

Go with Bob, stay in a bed and breakfast in forks. Bob will meet you there for breakfast, he'll take you to where there are lots of fish. Let him pull plugs all day so you can sit up front ,watch the scenery and let your wife bring in all the fish until she gets tired of it, then you can C&R the last 4 or so. Believe me , It's a great and relaxing time. And as far as I'm concerned there's not a better guide over on the O.P.
Believe me she'll love it.!!
