I think the logistics of this thing are incredible.

BUT, I think the bookwork is gonna be even more so. Whoever takes on the chore should get something for their time, and I think a healthy amount.

Maybe, it should be a cash only ($10 bill wrapped in a piece of paper with name and #) or something simple to handle.

Just my H O

However it's worked out its a great idea!

Looks like this is gonna fly ... keep letting me know if you're interested. I'll come up with some "rules" and make a post ...

I've already got PayPal setup on the site for hat orders, so that would be really easy and we'll certainly do cash as well.

I'm inclined to go $5 a crack, and no limit. I can't really see so many tickets being sold that we'd have to cap it, but if response is too overwhelming, I might change that.

I'm still inclined to let the winner choose the cause ... I think it might generate interest from a few more folks knowing that their fava cause might get some $$$ from this smile

A couple of ideas from me: The Wild Steelhead Coaltion, The Snider Creek Pond Fund, or on a non-fishing note: a fund setup for the expenses of the young granddaughters (identical twins) of a fellow guide here in town (T Dodge, you know him well) that were both recently diagnosed with Leukemia. There was a huge spaghetti feed & auction put on for them that many of the folks from Forks attended (it was WAY cool to see the turnout). A donation to that would be neat as well!

Just some ideas, perhaps others could make a few suggestions so that the eventual winner might have some more ideas smile

Great idea! This is my first post to tbe board, liked this idea so much I had to register to get in on it.
As seems to be the custom with first-time posters, here's my amusing (at least I thought it was) anecdote: A buddy and I are fishin for steelies this past summer on the upper drift of the Sky. We're anchored just below a promising looking riffle working drift gear, have been fishing for maybe five minutes when I feel the boat shake a little and hear my buddy say "What the ****"? I turn and look and he's standing there with the bottom section of his relatively new lamiglas rod in one hand, a dumbfounded look of amazement on his face, and the tip section of the rod slowing sinking just far enough downstream from us that he couldn't reach it. He had got a strike and set the hook so hard the line snapped, tip section came off and fell in the water. Still makes me laugh when I think about it.
Great board Bob, keep up the good work!

Suzy said she would loosen her purse strings enough to ante us both up.

As long as I put in a couple days overtime to refill the coffers.

Just kidding about that. We're in though.
It would be nice if we could ante up enough to cover the cost of two people on the trip.

We'll make it for 2 people, and yes, Aunty M, we'll "force" Fishgal to go along if you win (don't hink it'll take too much forcing to go along). Gutz, if you win, the Calawah it is!

After all is said and done, is there a river worth fishing this year? Just curious. All I hear is bad reports. I'd for sure love to hit a river for steelhead and have it be my first ever, but I dont have high hopes.

I'll get some info up soon Elmtree ... no hurry wink

Neurosis ... after a frantic run of days here, I've still got some dates open the next 15-20 days before things are pretty much packed.

You want to book a date?? I'll guarantee you catch your first one or I'll bring you out again until you do ... I'll put 99% odds on you catching one that first time :p
