I stopped checking ifish due to the mob mentality on that board. Regardless of views, if you are not part of that crowd, you will get jumped on. The hypocricy on that board is unbelievable...even for me! Well, not really, as I'm way more thick skinned than that! wink

Again, instead of biatchin' about it, I just stopped checking it. Don't like it, don't go there. Easy enough. Problem solved. No need to whine about it here.

I like to view ifish as a family board - yeah, as a cross between the Brady Bunch Family and the Soprano Family! laugh

PS - Yeah, what FJ said! Er... I think...er...maybe? My brain hurts now. eek

Jenny has a quite a sense of humor, too! wink

There have been some big battles in the past. Jenny is doing a fine job keeping Ifish together.

Great info on the Columbia. A very valuable resource.

I am a member of all 3 boards. IMHO, each one has it's own distinct flavor. If you live in Oregon or fish the southwest rivers, you'll probably find the ifish topics more useful. It's definitely a busy board, and there are a lot of intelligent posters there. The 2 Washington boards are where I'm most active simply because this is where I live, and the topics are more relatable to me personally. Bottom line: To each, their own. You'll find good and bad everywhere.

p.s. I too will have whatever FJ's having. wink laugh

Man Parker you are so right! I just happened to look at the last post you made on ifish and it was terrible what that group had to say to you. 32 people jumped on your post within the same day including the gang leader herself. I can see why you have such a low opinion of that board and their “family atmosphere.” Here’s the evidence if anyone wants to see the craziness for themselves:

It's unfortunate that you choose not to join the IFISH BB. They have great information on fishing in the Portland/Vancouver area. Jen's registration process is a bit cumbersome but she does it for a good reason. A small minority of users are simply too much of a problem and they've been booted off.

I got around the issue by indicating that I've been a long time member of this BB (with the same moniker) and if they wanted to search my past posts, they're free to do so. It would be easy to tell whether I'm a trouble maker or not. I'd like to think I'm not.....

My suggestion is to give it another try. There are times when the information provided on IFISH greatly exceeds what I can find on Bob's BB, particularly for the Portland/Vancovuer area.

I got a chuckle out of your response Bounty. The mob is speaking!

(As Parker listens to the Soprano's theme song).

Jennie and Bob both have had to deal with a lot of distractions on their boards. I think they both have done a great job in keeping them civil and fun places to go.
I appreciate Bob's hard work to protect the resource we all enjoy.
Way to go Bob hello thumbs

I'm a member of both board, been a member to this board just about as long as I've been a member to ifish.
You know, I had a whole other thing typed up that I was gonna say but I'm not here to cause trouble so I'll say this.
If you have a problem with the registration form, then why you complaining to us? This is not ifish. E-mail Jen if you got a problem with some pity cry little thing like this.

It sucks having to explain the punch line. beathead This time I'll type real S-L-O-W. :p

First...add sarcasm to frame of mind. Then reread. wink

While attempting to register at ifish about 8 months ago I recieved an E-mail taking exception to my moniker. Having never encountered controversy here or at Martys I found it hard to fathom. The letter went on to list the many possible negative religious connotations that could be linked to it. rolleyes Quite the colorful list considering it was coming from model faith practitioners. frown

Myself having never expressed or implyed any type of biblical connection found it hard to believe that it was said that I was the one guilty of trivializing religion? slap

GoHarley (glad someone gets it). wink
Why is it that a Jesus surname is acceptable among hispanic faith practitioners yet not to our societies upper crusted devout mix? Would it then be safe to assume that pure intentioned hispanic belief also trivialize religion? I would most likely be shocked with what kind burdon their list could possibly bare?

Was Hackana that far off base when he used the term elitist?

Done ranting and as always...just my .02. <img border="0" alt="[wall]" title="" src="graemlins/wall.gif" />

FJ...out.

Ok you guy's this was just little post showing you what Ifish.net is requiring to become a member, I just so happen to decide not to join their site as stated in my responce back to Ifish.net, I never said anything bad about them or anything about them or their sponsers spamming anyone, this was just my responce to their letter and thought you guy's might of liked to see it. And maybe I'll reconsider as I am sure they have a great site. I hope this cleares things up a little.

I agree with Hockana ... this deviated far away from a simple observation, and fankly, I like a lot of what Jen's board has to offer, so I'm gonna tuck this one in to beddy-bye wink sleep
