You caught fish with your tecnique right? Then who cares what your friend thinks. Unless he's catching way more fish than you,I'd stick with it.

SM, I agree with HBP. If it worked once use it again. Last year for springers I was trolling with a 6 oz banana weight instead with a drop leader and I had a buddy tell me, that doesn't work. Heck I caught more springers than he did. Theres no rule that you have to fish like everyone else. As long as you're catching fish your way, legal of course.

Seems like most guys say red wiggle warts at drano is the key, but anything could work at one time or another. More important than anything is that the plug is running true. If not you might as well pee in the wind. Glow

im no great springer catcher myself, having landed jus one in my whole life..after each fishing day, wash your k-14's -16's in joy soap to remove any "stink" from old herring that may be on there..i think that was the problem for me last year in idaho, this guy who i fished with, never washed his lures after, i will never fish with him again, 3 days not a single fish hooked..he would have gasoline on his hands and touch his lure, it would make me cringe..anyways, good luck...anybody ever bobber and jig from shore down in drano?

When I fish with Kiwiks, I always make sure that they are working slowly, especially the k-14, K-15, and K-16 sizes. If you decide to troll them, troll as slow as you possibly can. If you ever watch the guys using Kiwiks in the hog lines, they are always the guys that are usually on the inside, and out of the faster moving currents. Most guys that have bad luck when trolling Kiwiks are almost always the ones who are trolling them way to fast
Slow is the way to go!
Hope this will help you out

Don't know about the springers, but I killed the coho last year trolling bait wrapped K-15's.
Was using my DB and an electric so the fact that you troll'em dead slow saved me a lot of juice.
