Chappy,

Having read your Nazi reference post, I would like to say that while I don't want to debate your right to say what you want, I do think that challanging an obviously less skilled, older, gentleman to a fight leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Perhaps a more fitting contest would be a (Fish Off) and as how you would be the challanger, I think the rules require that you allow the gentleman to name the weapons and battle field.

That way you could still maintain your dignity and soothe your offended ego, and offer the other gentleman a contest that is more suited to his training and condition, and still wager the thousand dollars ($1000.00) you offered.

Just a thought.

Chappy is just fishing on the board. ignore him, dont respond and it'll stop. It is kinda funny though, challenging someone to a boxing match.... That sounded like fun! I boxed for years and was in many smokers. I really never wanted to fight a non-boxer though. The closest thing was when the football players at WSU would come strutting down wanting in the ring! They never left the ring with quite the same swagger. It could have been interesting! evil

Not to jump into a political debate (I did that a few months ago and had enough), in Cowlitz's defense I will say he was there elbow deep in the trash cleaning up Blue Creek. I met him and saw his dedication in action. It was a crappy job but he didn't quite till it was done. So many people love to talk the talk but Cowlitz walks the walk. Thanks Cowlitz! beer

Is anyone interested in fishing?

The one thing that should be obvious is that mighty few of us are about to change our minds on such a basic subject. Anyone who actualy stops to aks why they hold the views they do should have at least a little room for doubt. After all, we have the president and many other respected world leaders who beleive war is necessary. And we have groups of retired military heros, respected legislators, the pope and any other respected world leaders who are against the war. Is it possible that both sides have some valid points? Is it possible that you view may not be 100% on target? If you are completly dertain that there is no chance you could be even a little bit wrong or that the other side has any possibility of having some good ideas, you need to try to open you mind a bit and try to listen to others who disagree with you.

Let's all go fishing and lets spend some of the time between bites asking ourselves if our view is the only possible right answer. Personally I find that the older I get the less certain I am of many things. if you have no doubts I suspect you just haevn't thought about it enough.

Ok I found it! chappy chaps my hide. that would be an easy debate, sounds like he has fallen for the communist propaganda spewed out by the left.

I see 4salt made another feeble attack on cowlitz. Is he in love or something? this is getting ridiculess. Every time cowlitz post 4salt is right there ragging on him. I think cowlitz and 4salt had a fish off , 4salt lost , and cant get over it.

anglin4salmon, I also agree with surecatch.

Sorta like if we can't out debate them just pick a fight and beat um up. Looks like I see a few closet Chappy's from the above posts. rolleyes Get your tickets now... watch a Hippie get beat to a pulp. I would betcha that Chaappy is far from being a Hippie.

Our media is leading us to assume that if someone disagrees with policy then they are not true Americans and I say bull. mad Because someone disagrees with you there is no need to form a street gang (board members) of like minds and start picking fights. eek Shame, shame , shame. I sure hope 4salt doesn't grab the bait.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste!

Amen! J. L .H.!
Chappy is a very intelligent person. His only problem is that short fuse and sharp tungue. Alone they cause chaos, but together there dangerous and may get him in to deep. Passion is good thing as long as you don't let it control you. Violence Solves Nothing.

Am I missing something? It looked to me that chappy was the one picking a fight because some others did not agree with him. Typical .

Yes, everybody has the right to there own opinion. As those who dissagree have have the right to there own opinion. You can argue back and forth till your both blue in the face thats your right too. In the process facts an farces will come out. Chances are that neither side will ever agree but the majority will always rule and that is a Democracy dont cry so much, come up with better facts to sway your opponets If you have the best facts smart people will see that (and thank god theres alot of smart paople out there) they will vote accordingly, If you still cant sway your opponet maybe you need to check your facts again, You cant argue facts with emotion ( well you can its your right ) but its not very useful against facts. If you dont like it I think N Korea has some openings for human shields.

So, does the loser of the boxing match have to change their views about the war in Iraq? If not then we're just going to have the same disagreement.......just between two guys with lumps and bruises this time. wink

it is good to see people stick up for cowlitzfisherman, I am glad to hear that he does so much to help out our fisheries and I am sure that I would have much in common with him. (sounds like not age though)
my point with the quote was not to say that americans are nazi's but to point out that we are being marketed to in the same manner. truley I am glad that there is such fervent debate over going to war and if people didnt get pissed off about this stuff and disect it and debate it, then we would not be thinking enough. I was pissed off that a fellow fisherman wrote "traitor" on my truck for my anti-war sticker. I was tired of the barage of sentiment lately that if you disagree with a pre-emtive attack on Iraq then you are pro-sadamm or too week to stand up for yourself or your country. would i really like to box an old man? of course not! my point was that if you want to attack someone, show that you have the intelligence to debate what you disagree with. If you cant do that than there are allways gentelmanly ways of allowing the less intelligent to compete. like boxing!!!! Boxing is not violence, it is the opposite, it is grace and balance. It can be a great way for people who disagree with each other to get it out. It also teaches that no matter how much poundin you put on the other person, you will not change their mind!!!!!. now many of you must be thinking ,what a hypocrite, why would you box someone if you know that you will not change their mind? well why are we gonna pound some iraqi ass this week if we will never change the peoples minds? If 9/11 taught us anything it should be that this is not an issue that the military can solve cuz the military is like a boxer, it is the best available for boxing but when it comes to changing minds, it will not do the trick. the fight is against evil intent armed with such low tech weapons as box cutting knives. we are not fighting other militaries. we need to emphasize methods that will change minds because we all know in our hearts that the only way to make our country 100% safe is to turn it into a country that would be to restrictive to want to live in.

Last week I posted a picture of vincente fox, the president of mexico, on a political board and said "who is this person?"--- all 1,362 responses incorectly labelled the person as sadamm hussein. I have asked people who agree with me and those who dont to name every country that shares a border with iraq and I have yet to get the correct answers from anyone pro or anti. It is scary how fast we are to go to war or to protest a war but slow to educate ourselves.
I am guilty of inflaming people because i want to see them really think about this stuff. people will be dying this week and it should be discussed thoroughly. now that the decisions have been made. I hope this all goes in a manner that will provide the best outcome for everyone. although i thought the path that has taken us to this point was not thought out well, we are here and for better or for worse, sadamm will now get what he has coming to him. i hope that every american soldier comes home unscathed and every innocent iraqi civilian is unharmed.

now we have some dead weeks ahead of us until springers heat up and summer steeel season so we can all relax and go back to wondering what is better purple or cerise?

ps cowlitzfisherman--- if ya need any help with the blue creek garbage shoot me an email and ill spend a day cleaning up with ya.
