Thinking this is going to be my new toy. Just don't know a whole lot about Wellcraft Boats. Wondering if someone knew what they are like. This one is a 25' with a 225 optimax on the back. I'll through a 9.9 on and some Scotty electrics and be ready for some fun...

what

Pmartin, I certainly woudn't be ashamed to be caught fishing out of that boat. Are you getting a good deal on it?
You don't have an Arima right now do you?

I don't know a whole lot, but i've always understood Wellcraft to be one of the better built boats out there...The only thing I do know for sure is that a good survey is the best 400 bucks you will ever spend
Sure is a sweet lookin ride!

Wellcraft is a very good quality boat, I doubt you would be disappointed with it, the Optimax may be a different story if its 1 of the early models (either 99-00). There were a number of charter operators in Craig that ran them the first year they were out, and alot of them had lower unit problems with not many hours on them (<200hrs).

Knowing nothing about boats I like JohnnyDeeps idea about having it looked at.
Sure looks like a Salmon slayer from the picture. Take me, take me.

Craigharr, speaking of deals I am going to see your buddy Dave tonight about that rods. He also has another rod and a reel I am looking at. wink

P Martin, Wellcraft is indeed one of the finest boats made. I own a 240 Coastal with a 225 Johnson OceanRunner & Honda9.9 kicker. Before taking possession of my boat, I had a survey done. Even though the boat was brand new it puts your mind at ease knowing that somebody who crawls around hulls for a living approves of the purchase. Reisner, McEwan & Assoc. is an excellent marine survey company,Seattle#206-285-8194,toll#800-994-2628,Bellingham#360-647-6966. Hope this helps!

Thanks guys! cool Got a lot of great info. I am going to set an appointment this week to get the boat and motor surveyed. This boat is not brand new but in excellent shape. This is probably a little bigger than what I was looking for, a 21 arima, but I think she will do just fine. This should be good for going and getting some butts??

If I get her I post some more pics. Also, Akkings. If I get her I will be in looking for some new gear!! hello
