Mooched around Area 13 near the narrows yesterday & today w/ plug cut herring. C&R'ed a nice 35" (12-15lb?) blackmouth yesterday (Sat) and missed one other. Skunked today (Sun). Lots of flounder though. Are these flounder tasty to eat like the Atlantic version? Sure were a lot of them. Last weekend found a couple nice keeper blackmouth off Pt. Defiance on sat & sun mooching herring. Should keep the freezer full until halibut & cod open.

I'm a new poster. Just moved back to Seattle from the east coast. Thanks for all the info on this site. I've been lurking for a few months. Will try to regularly post reports after fishing.

Flounders are tasty, Gotta catch them away from the toxic waste sites, though. Don't know if I'd eat too many from around point defiance.

Welcome Sideoff! Another Area 13'r!

Must have been mooching Gibson Pt aka Flounderville (?)

If you're out and about often, you'll defanitely see me! I'm on the water at least a 100 days out of the year with my side kick (Tiny Downriggin' - My daughter who manages to out fish me everytime she's in the boat!) at Green Pt, Gibson Pt, Oro Bay or Johnson's Pt.. and a few other secret locations.

May kicks off the return of bait! Especially around Fox Island. Unfortunately, I'll miss May and June this year... Should be home by August (fingers crossed)

I'll keep my eyes open for you guys. I was indeed at "Flounderville." Going to try Green next weekend as well if I can get out for one or both days. Looking forward to May for sure.

The flounders were small (12") but numerous enough to feed us for a week if I felt like cleaning them. Little buggers kept stealing my bait. Some of them were picking it up in mid-water!

Sideoff,
I used to catch and eat flounder.....which are tasty, but lost my appetite for them after catching a few with parasites. Most of these are caught in and around marinas. Before you keep one check the bottom side for spots. Any spots toss it back.
