i saw a show the other day on bigfoot and much had to do with a researcher from the olympic penn. I was just wondering since there about 400 aleged sightings a year , has anyone ever seen one or had friends see one? I have never thought about it too much, but some of the newer pics from mt. ranier and the "memorial day " footage are very clear and interesting. just wondering if anyone out there had any first hand experiences or anything close to it.

I'm pretty sure my mother-in-law is a sasquatch.

I have hunted the goat rocks a little bit and have been as far from roads as you can get, have never seen one or anything that would make you suspect that there was one, and ive given it some thought....its gotta be one of the best hoaxes yet, started by the indians, whats in this peice pipe????? plus ive done alot of hound hunting in areas that have had sightings,,,, no foots just bears???? the dogs would never miss an ape.

I was out scouting an unnamed river for some winter steelies when all of a sudden this Sasquatch came out of the bushes, grabbed my hand, and led me to a hole full of 40 lb. hatchery brats. No, wait, that was something else. It was the Easter Bunny that showed me the hole.
I'm sure most of you guys are calling B.S. on this one because you think there's no such thing as a 40 lb. hatchery brat.

Don't mess with us down here in Toledo! Remember Ray Wallace, he was the one who first sighted Big Foot! (good old Toledo boy). It was a true story too! If any of you guys think that it wasn't true...then bring your boats down here and he (Big Foot) will jump all over you! Remember, the Toledo good old boys were the founder of the really big one (sorry Bob). Cowlitzfisherman

Gotta love the good old Toledo boys... I heard that one particular good old boy had the evidence in his garage that would lead one to the conclusion that he was a "sasquatch footprint making fool" having a good old Toledo boy laugh at everyone.

I've never seen one, but have been curious about the mystery for quite some time. Check these out: www.n2.net/prey/bigfoot/ www.bfro.net/ www.oregonbigfoot.com Can every report be a hoax?

We’ve had several credible sightings here in Grays Harbor Co. in the early seventies. One on Decay Rd. North of Hoquiam, the other on the East Satsop Rd. just over the crest of the hill. I personally seen one while driving a delivery truck on HWY 101 on the straight stretch between So. Shore Rd. of Lk. Quinault and Neilton around 1978-79. No doubt in my mind what I saw. I remember watching Exploration NW with Don McQuan where a Stater was sitting on the side of a highway, I think in the Cascades, filling out a traffic report and one crossed in front of him. It seems he shined his spot light on it and got a good look.

I think it'd be hilarious to dress up like one and tromp around some campgrounds or fishing spots, if only to spark some reactions out of people.
Of course you would want to wear your bullet proof vest!

CFM, A few people in the area say that Ray Wallace kinda borrowed the idea (actually the carved footprints)from a guy named Rant Mullins). When I was about 12 years old Rant told me about carving the footprints that Ray ended up with. In a letter to the editor of the Longview Daily news,That apeared after all the hoolabaloo about Ray was printed.A guy named Glen Thompson, another Toledo guy.Related the story about Rant carving the prints.Ray wouldnt give them back.Rant wanted to sue to get them back but was on such a limited income he never could afford to. It was a pretty interesting letter, that pretty much confirmed what Rant had told me 30 some years earlier. Ray was a pretty colorful character and had a lot to do with promoting the bigfoot legend. But my understanding is that he wasnt the one responsible for giving it the beginning that he was credited with.

I've seen some pretty interesting stuff around the area, but never a Sasquatch. I have known people that would get pretty bent if you didnt believe that they saw one though.

hey maguana- that old show exploration northwest was the best. i was just talking about that the other day. they did a show on my dad who retraced my great grandfathers ship- the raveli- that caught fire, burned to the waterline and sunk up near prince rupert. anyway they retraced all his old maps and diary and the exploration northwest crew and a diving crew found it after it being lost at sea for more than 70 years. exploration northwest and my parents got a documentary emmy for it. I still have salmon canning labels that are perfectly preserved from back then and all kinds of stuff from the ship. how funny to hear of that show after all these years. they should bring it back
I completely believe many people that swear on their lives what they saw. there was one sighting between portland and yakima where 12 people reported one that was said to be terrified and running along the road. this guy they interviewed said that he looked right into its eyes and it looked extreemly scared. anyway it turned out that 4 police officers were among the 12 to see it. that memorial day footage is really incredible too. could you tell me more about your experience.

When I was a kid, growing up in Cincinnati, my friends and I saw a movie called "Sasquatch", which was about a fictional exploration group that got ambushed by a "herd" of Sasquatch's. Scared the hell out of me!!! Anyway, a few days later, I was laying awake in bed and heard a rustling noise outside in the woods. I got nervous, thinking about the evil Sasquatches that I'd just seen in the movie. I was afraid to open my eyes, but got the courage long enough to see the shadow of a head go by my window. My bedroom window was about 7 - 8 feet off the ground!!! I was petrified! After about twenty minutes of rustling noises and another pass or 2 of the head, I got the nerve up to look out the window. My neighbors were working on their car and walking back and forth in front of their drive light, which cast a shadow 80 feet onto my bedroom window! I felt silly, but still didn't sleep well that night. Damn Sasquatch's!

In the Seattle times within the last two onths was an article about the death of a guy who created the Sasquatch hoax. It turns out, his whole family was in on it. He had the footprints, the hair, the whole nine yards. I believe he was in on the movie, too.

Silver Hilton, That was Ray Wallace. The man that CFM was talking about. Some of you might remember him from his little wild animal park and burger bar he had along I-5 several years ago. It was on the west side of the freeway,Between Hwy 12 east and the Toledo -Winlock exit. He had Buffalo, white deer, elk, and a few other animals. This was probably more than 20 years ago.Back then they had the side roads come up to the highway and you just took your best shot at getting across or on the highway.I guess that was a long time ago.Whew, surprised I even remember it.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Before you pooh-pooh too much just remember that the Coelacanth was "extinct" for millions of years too........until a live one was caught in 1938. Consider me not convinced either way when it comes to Sasquatch.........

chappy,
Exploration NW was a great show. A couple years ago they were running reruns on KOMO at 2:30 am every Saturday. I set the timer on the vcr and looked forward to everyone. In 1971 they came down to Westport to tape an episode on salmon fishing. My best friends grandfather owned Little Hoquiam Boat shop and he leased his boats to COHO Charters. We got to go along for free and made it onto the show. They sent his grandpa a reel of tape that was edited out and we had it converted to video tape.
When I saw the Sasquatch I was driving a delivery truck south on Hiway 101 on the straight stretch between Lake Quinault and Neilton in 1978. That section is a forest study area where it is all old growth timber. It was standing at the side of the road. As I approached it spun around to go back into the timber. It was very tall all dark or black, wide shoulders definitely not waring any clothing. As it spun counter clockwise his right arm came up from his side. His long arms swung as he walked just like a human. A couple steps and he was in the timber. I was too big of a chicken to stop and get out to look for sign or to see if he stoped just inside the timber. I was about a quarter mile away and couldn’t see his face but close enough to have no doubt as to what I saw. Everyone I told thought I was full of it except for those close to me that knew I wouldn’t make up a BS story.
