I'm going to float the Kalama from Red Barn or Pritchard's to the Beginner's Hole or Modrow on Tuesday 4/22/03. If you have been down lately, is there any sweepers, channels or rocks that may be a problem? I have not floated this river for a couple of years. Any fishing information will be greatly appreciated. My e-mail is TeeFehr@ aol.com.

I'm bringing a fellow firefighter with me and he's never fished for steelhead or springers before. I'd sure hate for him to get hooked on this adventure.

I was down on saturday and it looked fine, fishing was also good. A mix of springers and native winters......landed a nice 19 pound native hen.

What drift did you take and what did you use?

Took a short float on it today, but no luck for me. There were a few other boats with springers and the water looked real good. I didn't see any Steelhead caught, but I hear there are a few in there. It was a great day to be out on the river. Hope you fair better than I did.
