Did a drift saturday from i-5 bridge to Olequa and caught a nice little 6 pound springer on a spinner. This weekend id like to drift eggs and try for steelhead and was wondering what a good set up consist of. I was thinking of three ft. leader with slinkies and perhaps a cheater above the eggs. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Your setup would work just fine, but if there are fish in the river, a small corky and piece of yarn is really all you need (of course with weight).

The smolt situation is extreme right now down there. You'd be better off sticking with what seemed to work quite well for you. If you caught two on that float you were a highliner from the people I talked to on the same float. I only had one bite all day. 26 lbs! k-15 pirate/anchovy scent

We only got one when we tied off on a snag and threw spinners, only other people we saw on that drift were two plunkers on the bank. Berkley boy, ill be drifting with my cousin in his boat but thanks for the offer.
