A buddy of mine is getting married in July, and we're going to be having his bachelor party next month. Any ideas on a good place to go or something fun to do. Not real into get all kinds of drunk in a city bar hopping. We thought about going to lake chelan and camping.

Thanks

I am planning one now for July. We had a Reno trip planned out, but ditched it a couple weeks ago and rented what appears to be a great 5 bedroom house on hood canal (way down south). The plans are now to spend a weekend golfing, crabing, playing poker and water skiing in the canal.

I checked and saw that salmon fishing is open in this area in July, so I'll be posting a Q asking for help when the date approaches.

Also, camping up around Lake Wapato is pretty good - it's near chelan, casino and golfing, but not right in town.

Whatever you do will be fun, but I am learning that less travel and keeping it simple often makes helps.

Glowball-

I had my bachelor party/guys weekend at Potholes Resevoir 9 summers ago and it was a blast!! We caught all sorts of fish, skied, drank a few coldies and told college stories.

When we all get together now we still talk about the fun we had those 2 days.

No matter where you choose to have the event you will not regret it!!!

I've threw a few and have had close friends throw a few also. I think alot depends on your buddy. If he's in to the partying. Remember its about him, not the guys trowing it. Its his last day of true freedom. So if he's in to the partying and girly girls, head up to Ricks in Lake City. You must drink before entering, due to its none alcohol. Agree with Swami also, can't go wrong with Vancouver, BC. If you have the cash flow, sure limo, but just rent a van and bring the buddy that does'nt drink, if you have one or find a person in the group to be the sober one for the night. And if he doesn't party, than like you said there in your post, do the camping thing. Plus you can always have it at some ones house and bring the girly girls there. You can have a day thing where ya guys maybe fish, golf, heck boat around and drink on Lake WA. Than head back to a house to BBQ and wait for the girly girls.

What ever you decide I'm sure you will have a blast. Its always fun when you have the fellas together. Let us know what you end up doing.

My best bud had his batchelor party over on the Teton River. We camped at the lake above, can't remember the name and rode jet skis all day. The next morning we got up early and went white water rafting on the river. They start letting water out of the damn then and the river gets pretty wild in places. It was one of the best batchelor parties I have been to, and I went to some at Cheetahs III in and Pure Platinum in Ft. Lauderdale for those who know what these are. At those we were so stinky drunk nobody really remembers everything that happened, and his new bride was pissed at him and us for taking him there. Well, joke her if she cant take a ..... The nice thing here is we remember everything, had a hell of a great time for his last male decadence weekend, and no hangover! At my bachelor pary, we played golf at a first class resort, my treat. My wife now is so much happier than my first wife was after the pictures showed up of me dancing naked with the naked stripper doing the grind thing. No fun to try to talk out of that one! I seriously think strippers and hookers are for the younger guys, but hey like ErnDog said, it is his last free weekend barring the big D. So, let him decide what kind of party to have, and then you plan it. My.02 beer

I had a buddy who went to a bachelor party that was in the Blue Mountains. They rented a bunch of paint ball equipment, and played paint ball for the weekend. Camping and beer in the evenings. He said it was the most enjoyable bachelor party he has gone to.

When I got married I really wanted to go down to a Formula driving school for the weekend, I think it is in Santa Barbara. We almost pulled it off until we realized how expensive the trip would be for everyone. So. my brother threw me a big party with a stripper and keg, the works.

I think the stripper walked away with all of our formula driving school money! She made a mint!

I agree that camping trips and golfing trips are great bachelor party ideas. But doesnt it sound good to add alot of drinking and a stripper to anyone of those ideas?

Maybe I should hire a stripper to dance on the bow of my boat all morning at our next blackmouth derby????

Go camping in Vegas, visit the Mustange Ranch, and check the stories at the state line. It will be memorable for those that go. You can go camping in Washington for the rest of your life. Vegas, might be a bit tougher to duplicate that one once he's married.

I just put on a bachelor party for a freind, there were eight of us,we all went to oregon and went out fishing for the day.We used Scott Amerman as the guide he put together three boats and we all caught fish and had a great time. After the fishing we all went to club called stars in salem and that was money well spent, not to mention you can drink in the clubs in oregon. It was real nice to get up early get in some one elses boat let them rig up everything let them worry about where the fish are this was my first guided trip.

For my bachelor party we did the paintball war in the morning followed by an "all night" poker party. It was pretty low key, and there was no guilt associated with the whole issue.

I have organized other bachelor parties for my friends where "Peaches and Cream" appeared with some Texas sized confetti, and those were fun as well. I just didn't want to deal with the baggage, personally, that a send off like that might come with.

There have been a few road trips since then to study the ancient Canadian custom of brass pole dancing, but only in moderation. wink

Thanks for the ideas. We went to oregon last year for another buddies party and it was fun, but might be a bit much for these boys. I'm the only one in this group that is a fishing fanatic so the probably won't be into that. We'll figure something out.

Check out the champ karts in Fife. If you are competitive and like racing you can rent the whole place for a few hours and have a ball and the [Bleeeeep!] bars aren't far for latenight fun.

For mine last Year we went camping for the weekend. About 15 of my buddies and we had guys weekend. A little fishing and a lot of drinking and BBQ'ing. Was a blast, and kept us all out of trouble.

Done the Clubbing and stripper thing before also, but can do that any day though. How often do you get to spend a weekend with a big bunch of your friends.

Well I called over to chelan today and got setup to camp there. Sounds like there is just enough to do over there to be fun, but not enough to get into trouble. Perfect for us. Now the important question. How do you fish lake chelan? I don't leave home without a pole so I'll have to try and catch something.

Should be fun.

I have not fished Chelan since I was a kid, but we clobbered trout on bait.... eggs or worms either from a bobber or on bottom, they seemed to be everywhere. There are some big catfish in that lake too that you might catch as bycatch while trout fishing.

If on a boat, You could probably sight-drop bait to fish 50ft down since the lake is so clear..at least it was back 20 years ago.
