Well yesterday my son's and I went down to check out the boat launch at Rainer Beach... to see what the crowd was like...

When we pulled around to the launch and we saw the following...

A guy trying to pull his boat out with a Honda Odyssey... he had hooked the boat to the trailer and was driving forward... when he started getting helpfull advice from the dock... So he stopped started to back up, then forward and then back when... he hits the gas... and he was in to deep...

I hope when I make mistakes nobody had a digital camera ready...

Mix up them Renton folks with the lake and it's never pretty.

Just so everyone is clear, They should put a sign up at that launch that reads "The boats go in the water, the automobiles stay on land"

Ok, I may get it for bashing Renton people but I couldnt help it, no offense!

As an SUV Owner I think that 's where all Mini Vans need to be parked or they need to take a long trip off a short pier!

Speaking of minivans....
I got a perverse sense of satisfaction watching a lift-kit, big tire, harley decal-wearing GM pickup with glass-packs swim for its life when it he-man owner decided to have lunch and a nap at the bottom of the Ship Creek launch in Anchorage.
sleep
I've never seen a tide come in so fast.

The tide looked like it was coming in a foot every 3 minutes.

Why do they call those tires 'mudders' when they just ball up with tidal mud?

I feel sorry for the Oddy owner. They are nice cars, great for hauling kids.

Oh, and Osama loves your SUV.

There's something about seeing a car in the water that just fasinates. I remember watching a truck sink in to the Snoqualmie river years ago. It was a combination of horror and amazement. One part of my brain was saying "Oh no" while the other part was saying "cool". Must be the perverse streak in me coming out.

Actually my Samurai gets 30 MPG and my wife's XL-7 gets 23 MPG and I'll take or have taken either of them or my F-150 Ext Cab 4x4 places you couldn't take your Mini Van looking for Idiots from the I-5 Corrider trying to get their "Wilderness Experience" up here on the Olympic Peninsula.

Judging from the angle the boat is sitting in the water, I would say the bow is still attached to the trailer. laugh laugh

Yep, Easy and Duro... you guys are right! The boat was attached to the trailer...

When the tow truck got there the guy got to go swimming to unhook boat from the trailer... then they tied a couple of ropes to the trailer and unhooked it from the van, before the tow truck would start to tow the van out...

The one thing that suprised me was that the tow truck guy didn't have them open the doors until he got the van out of the water... it would have been lighter and easier to pull the van out with all the doors open....

It was a good show!

smile There's always one in every crowd :p Was out at Ocean Shores once down at the north jetty when this high school age kid comes barreling down stops his car about halfway between the surf and the high tide mark(The tide was out) and proceeds to walk out to the end of the jetty with his girlfriend in tow. rolleyes Needles to say as the tide came in people were wondering if he was going to make it back in time. Someone must have pointed the situation out to the kid cause all of a sudden there was a cry of "MY CAR!" from halfway down the jetty. He got back to his car just as the water was a couple of feet from his car, jumped in, started it and proceeded to bury his drive wheels in the sand. He got lucky cause with the help of people in the area he was able to get his car out just as the surf was lapping at his wheels. laugh laugh
