I don't know what it is, but lately it seems that there are a number of folks out there that have nothing better to do than to inject their negative attitude.

I am not suggesting that we live in a smurfy world where everything is happy and gay (not that there is anything wrong with that wink ), but there have been a number of pissy add-on posts to a some perfectly legal, ethical pursuits of fish that, in my opinion, add no substance to the purpose of this board, sharing info.

There are threads about different opinions as to fish and game management, so I expect a spirited debate on those posts, but some folks like Chappy, MasterCaster and DriftBoater have nothing better to do than to derail a perfectly good post that is not political at all. Yeah, I consider you in the same boat.

As you tell, me, you feel that being direct is best, so I will not hide behind an e-mail or PM. I don't appreciate it when someone has almost nothing but negativity to bring to the board. You presence would not be missed by a majority of the folks here if you were to choose to leave and never post again. (Except it is kind of fun baggin' on poor misguided Chappy.) That is my opinion.

If you can't hunt well or catch fish consistently, don't get jealous when someone who does well posts. (Veiled jab at your inadequacy) I have a better idea the next time that happens, leave.

Great I thank you for your opinion!

Is this a perfectly good post? or am I allowed to derail it?

Is this directed towards me? Lets be more specific. Sack Up!

Well Andy,

Can you please be a little more open, and tell us how you really feel? laugh laugh laugh

I think that there are lots of other members who hold those same feelings about a few "members" who do almost nothing but attack or mock other board member's and there threads (and it's not just the ones that you named)!

You have been a real asset to our board! Even those we may have had some early differences, you were always very professional with your replies and commits. That is the trick that many have not yet learned to do or master (just my own opine)! thumbs

Hey Andy,,

Just curious do you consider your above post a "low" or 'high" road approach?

You are confusing me lately with your advise!

Right on, Andy!! thumbs

Over the past few years, I have brought my fair share of controversy and such but the past few weeks, one of the aforementioned posters has done nothing but bring a negative, condescending attitude to the board with his unwarranted attacks and sarcasm!

I find this to be the most pointless thread in a long while (but Hey...that is what makes this board great...it is over mod'ed).

Driftboater...your conspiracy theories get a little old and you make your fellow conservatives (I am one of them) look ignorant and shallow.
Hey Sparkster,,

Sorry my vote is for driftboater to stay. He brings a lot of information to the board that I like reading. Good comedy for the onlooker as well.

Glowball,, better watch siding with me,, they are gonna accuse us of conspiracy leaders or something smile but no they wouldnt do that, all their posts are so positive and constructive!

Easy,,

Dogfish told me the same thing.. I responded bak that this is my first free weekend home in the last five.. I also counted the days on my calendar. Out of the last 30, I spent 14 full days on the water or in it. Some days I even pulled a double and did a night shift on the lake..
Today I did a quick hike to a lake to see if I could see a hatch popping off. Didnt have time to fish, just to hike in a see what was going on..

Guaranteed that I get out. In another month when the salmon start moving around well up here. I will be out every day laugh

Ok,

I just went back and reread a bunch of both of your guys threads (Dogfish and Driftboater)

There is no question in my mind that a "duel" is going to be the only way to settle this debate! laugh

Since I am the "master" of duels on this board, I will need to be the ones who set the rules! laugh

Rule 1) the weapons of choice will be "rubbers" (they are the most commonly used weapons on this board). They worked the last time, and nobody got screwed up, so we will use them again!

Rule 2) the "rubbers" must be made from pure "American rubber" (no imported or Iraq rubbers will be allowed)

Rule 3) you both have a choice of who will be your rubber bearers (no griners will be allowed).

Rule 4) your choice of "bearers" will be one these members; 4Salt; Chappy; or H20. If 4Salt defaults, then Cowlitzfisherman will reluctantly be a substitute.

Rule 5) the winner must take all (that includes all unused rubbers that may have been left unused.... or miss used). Duels are always very messy!

Rule 6) the place of the dual will be decided when both sides can clam down

Final rule; lets all calm down and wait a while before we all get to excited!

And this time I do believe that "bearers" and "duel" are spelled correctly! laugh

Not sure this thread was really started to keep the peace. frown

But it could have a purpose... elkrun steps up on the soapbox... violin music plays softly in the background, elkrun clears his throat and speaks....

I too get sick of all the negative crap posted on a regular basis on this board. This is Bob's board, he selects the mod's and what's to be allowed or not. I have been spending more and more time on the other board as a result of all the crap, and I'm not alone. It seems to be more civil there. I still frequent this site and enjoy insight from those like easylimits, downriggin, and many others I'm forgetting at the moment.. it can be informative here most of the time.

The one thing that really gets me pissed is when someone posts something innocent, such as a picture, and gets totally ripped because there's not enough water dripping from the fish.... or tells about a great day catching fish and gets ripped for not caring enough to stop fishing, or lists the name of a major waterway in a fishing report and gets lambasted, or countless other petty things.. Face it we're all here looking for information that will help us catch more fish.

The bashing happens way too often and I wish the Mod's would put a stop to that... but its not my call.

I would say that the easiest thing to do is to ignore those threads from those who like flaming more than fishing. I have a few I wont read or respond too at all. (no i wont list them drftbtr, it wouldn't help the situation, its not about having sack or not, more about trying to be civil) If people stop responding, they'll go away or change their tune.

I think a big salmon run will do a lot to mellow people out some, good fishing = happy fishermen.

Cant we all just get along... laugh

Elkrun steps down off the soapbox, the violins stop, and one thought keeps playing in his head... "exactly when did I start referring to myself in the third person???" help

Okay, I'll play the bad guy in this.

This should have been some sort of email exchange, but obviously there must be some sort of satisfaction some people get out of fighting in public on the web.

I'm sure some 10-15 years down the road there will be some syndrome named for this, but for now, I'll call it childish AND a violation of board rules.

They state: "You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this BB to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law."

The rules seem to describe many recent posts to a tee ... so, I'm going to invoke my big bad mean side and escort poor DB to the door.

Why DB? You seem to be quite unhappy in my house. I hate to see that. You mention how bad it is, so I get the feeling you really don't want to be here, so I'll gladly show you the way out.

There are others that also need to shape up some, but also seem to have the desire to stay. For those, I'll simply say I have an awfully itchy finger right now!

You know, my mom taught third grade for over 30 years ... I'm starting to wonder how she dealt with it!

Please don't bother emailing me on this subject for any involved. My foot is down and I have many other things to be doing right now other than this.

Aunty, it appears this is your first post on this thread, for what reason would somebody send you PM's that would be unappreciated?
