42 pound King (Thanks Bob!) wink
27 pound Steelhead! eek

If I were to set some lifetime fishing goals, it would be to catch a 70+ pound King and a 30+ pound steelhead.

Those are some lofty goals! wink

Steelhead - 26.3 lbs (Babine, 2 over 20 on that trip, and one on the Quinalt)

Rainbow - 18 lbs even (Rufus Woods, but not a triploid according to the biologist, it just liked the super food)

Steelie= 18 lbs. on the Sol Duc drift fishin' a big poink Spin N' Glow that they fish with on the Kenai. Those wild fish are afraid of nothing I swear.Thats a catch AND release boys. The prettiest fish that I ever did see. smile

Humpy= 12 lbs. by accident fishin' for kings and silvers in front of the Puyallup with a coho killer spoon. The damn thing fought near 10 min's on 20 lbs. test and beefy old school cork eagle claw rods!!!

King, 42 pounds on a Berkley electronic scale, upriver bright caught in the Columbia.

Steelhead, 21 pounds using LxG squared/775, caught and released on a fly in the Quinault.

Coho to the boat and measured on the scale, 19 pounds, another one brought to the side of the boat the same day and released without measuring girth as it was a wild fish, but I did measure length against the handle of my rod, and it was an inch longer than my 19 pound hatchery fish, estimated 21 lbs.

beer My hats off to you spawnout! A released fish is indeed the best kinda fish. Its nice to see that other people also throw fish of larger proportions back. I see to many larger than average fish being killed these days. Do we really need the meat that bad? Or is it the macho " I caught a humungo fish " thing? Sad. everytime I look at whats happening to the Kenia I wanna put my rod away for taking part in it. cry

My biggest king 50 lbs on the (HOH)and was released and Mr.Mansfield couldn't believe I let it go he was watching me land it.It was not a guided trip.
Steehead 27lbs (Nisqually)

sockeye 13lbs (Kenai)
Stergeon 7ft above Vernita

And the biggest that got away was my last trip to AK. the skipper said it would have been

King=21# frown
Coho=8# frown
Chum=27# smile
Steelie=24# smile
Sturgeon=89"est.110# smile

The one that got away.....
I was fishing Lake Margret with my dad. I was about 6 I guss. We were tyed to the log that sticks out of 20' deep water on the west side. We were fishing powerbait on the bottom after failing to catch one trolling. Still had no luck so we started to eat and forgot about fishing. Then my pole, one of the little push-button ones, jumped out of the boat, skirted acrossed the water for twenty feet, and went down never to be seen again. I later found out that WDFW planted 80 steelhead into that lake that year and this is what we think it was.
