I was thinking... you didn't ask for the money..It wasn't given out of obligation....It was offered as a gift; a "Thank you". I can understand your concern, but I would not feel bad getting myself some new gear.

I agree with Herm, you seem like a stand up guy. What kind of boat are you in, Ill keep an eye out this weekend if your fishing?
I'll be in a 20 foot hewescraft with a pair of Yahamas. I have a dark green canopy. I monitor channel 16 and will answer to elkrun. I'll be trolling off of Umatilla tomorrow, than chasing silvers with the flyrod later on. Have a good weekend.

I had a similar situation with a guy recently. He is a good friend of mine and needed a favor. I hauled a truck to fife for him and he wanted to give me $100. I told him no way man. Friends don't charge friends. He insisted on covering my gas and I let him do that.

Just by offering it back you made them that much happier about giving you the money. Trust me.

You had done the right thing by calling & asking them to return it. It would be considered rude if you refused to accept it now. You now may spend the money and buy them a nifty gift as a nice gesture. Not that I am miss manners or Dear Abby or something but I no i would be put off a little if i tried to be generous to someone & they kept refusing to accept my gift -money or whatever. just return the favor somehow!

Good luck

Full Freezer (Come bouy 10 it will be)

p.s. - came back myself from Neah on Tuesday -had about a 6:1 ratio native & lost as many fish as I successfully hooked 7 brought alongside -looks to be a good summer!
