I was looking at scents the other day and I notices one called Anis Oil. I was very confused. All I've used befor was shrimp and herring and I was wondering why some one would make a scent that smelled like a$$! But as uaual I could be wrong. What is this stuff?

Hah, funny anis oil. No, it is Anise Oil, pronounced Anniece. It is the same stuff licorice is made of, if you smell it, you will find it is a sweet smell similar to licorice. It seems to work well, if you want something different give it a try. I have some shrimp/anise smelly jelly that works great.

Good stuff. You can get the pure extract at most any grocery store.

Don't even waste your time. It doesn't catch fish

anise oil from the supermarket w/blue food coloring, soak whole herring for springers

shrimp/anise mix works w/corky & yarn = 3 days (on 8/4, 8/5, & 8/11) less than2 hrs fishin each day, 9 hooked 8 landed = it works on steelhead

I also put the shrimp/anise oil mix on my apex when i run it as in on 7/28 got 44# king on it (measured by some body else on the docks after sitting in the hold for a couple of hours) & 13+lb silver = it works on salmon.....

PS: I'll be using again in about 3 1/2 hours from now......

Use to soak dry flies in the stuff to help them float without the stinky petrolium base. Although the anus can be a stinky place if not properly cared for
