I haven't fished either of these rivers and was wondering if people take their boats on either of these two rivers? I'm hoping to chase Pinks this weekend and was hoping somebody could give recommendations? Some rivers are frowned upon to have motorized vehicles, are these ok?

Thanks in advance.

While both rivers will normally accommdate sleds, the Sky is running too low now to be effectively fish by a sled. You'd be best off to launch and target the the Snohomish or maybe put in at the High Bridge launch on the Snoqualmie. A good bet would be to launch at Lowell and fish area near the entrance of Steamboat Slough, it's packed with pinks.

The Snoqualmie is too small to accomodiate jets much above the Tolt Hill bridge, and if they are making it to Fall City, they are hassling bank fishermen, and digging up the riffles. This is during the winter season.

The Sky does not have this problem, as it is a bigger river, and jets can't get beyond where they should go, which is not too far above the Sultan River.

I would really appreciate if jet drivers would be attentive to what sort of an effect they had on smaller rivers, like the Snoqualmie. Just because a jet can go somewhere it doesn't mean they should.

I totally agree. I believe that jets have their place on some rivers, and that they should also be banned on certain rivers and/or certain stretches. Interestingly, Washington does not seem to have a law that states where jets are allowed or not. I called the State Marine board and was surprised that Washington does not have laws governing the use of jets.

The Snohomish easily supports sleds.

The Sky and Snoqualmie, well, that depends on who you ask. fight wink

Certainly they're not sled friendly right now.

The Sky is running too low right now for most sleds. Try the Skagit, or areas of the Snoh. that were suggested above.

Tight lines!

I run all three rivers on the Snoho system, but when the flows are down there are a number of hazards, the biggest of which is the rafts, tubers, kayaks, canoes, swimmers that use the rivers during the summer. Not too many choices to make when running skinny water and you come to a bunch people people floating the river (run aground or run someone over). I choose not to run the rivers at low flow (especially summer with more people on the water) because of the hazard it poses for others on the water. Also as stated above, why tear up the river when there is not enough water?
From the high bridge launch on the Snoqualmie down to the 522 bridge still has room for navigating and dropping off plane if you have to stop or avoid someone. I have not seen a lot of swimmers etc... on this stretch due to the lack of access, unlike the Snoqualmie from Carnation and up to the Falls.
The Sky as well is way low for sleds right now. The lower Snoho, as stated above also, has room to navigate without being a hazard to others.
Take care all and be safe.
